Clearview Science Olympiad Team Excels at Division A Tournament
Two images: the first shows coaches presenting medals and certificates to students in a library setting. The second shows Clearview’s Science Olympiad team gathered with coaches, celebrating a successful tournament.
Clearview Elementary proudly recognizes its Science Olympiad team for their strong performance and excellence at the recent Division A tournament. Students demonstrated curiosity, teamwork, and problem solving across a variety of events, from engineering challenges like Build-a-Barge, Chopper Challenge, and Tower Power to academic competitions such as Anatomy Academy, Rockstars, and Solar System. Additional highlights included creative thinking in DaVinci Decoders, careful observation in Sherlock Foams, and hands-on experimentation in The Great Experimenter. Their effort and enthusiasm were evident throughout the event.
We extend our sincere thanks to Coach Brelsford, Coach Li, and Coach Newbold for their leadership and dedication. We also deeply appreciate the parents and volunteers whose time and support have played a vital role in making Clearview’s Science Olympiad program such a success. This experience would not be possible without their help. If your student in grades 3 through 6 is interested in joining Science Olympiad, please reach out to Assistant Principal Rachel Charlton for more information.

May 6 is National School Nurse Day
National School Nurse Day is Wednesday, May 6. It is a day to recognize the many contributions that school nurses make to student health and learning.
FCPS appreciates the role of School Public Health Nurses (PHNs) for their contribution to the health and welfare of all our students. Professional school nurses support the needs of students through their delivery of healthcare, contributions to local school communities, and promotion of safety, prevention, and wellness throughout the year. They are advocates who bridge healthcare and education by supporting student health and readiness to learn. School nurses are essential to our community and work tirelessly to make a positive impact in the lives of their students.
Please join us in thanking Clearview’s awesome PHN, Shannon Mansfield for her hard work and dedication to FCPS students.
