2026-2027 Class Placement and Family Input Form

We are starting to work on our plans for the 2026-2027 school year!  Class placements are an essential component of learning and building community. If you have information that you would like us to consider as we determine placements, please share your input by answering a few questions in the attached form. We know that a good teacher-student match and a productive mix of children are ingredients for success, and we carefully consider each child’s strengths and needs during this process. Please do not request specific teachers, as this does not take into account the many variables we must take into consideration. It is far more valuable to share particular academic or behavioral information. Please use the following link to submit your input:https://forms.gle/2bdZtAs1DNWMN4JR8

Happy Principals Day!

Thank you for your leadership, dedication, care, and effort you put in day in and day out in order to create a positive supportive environment for students, staff, and families. You are the foundation of Woodburn and we are so thankful to have you. We hope you know how much of an impact you’ve made on our Woodburn community. We appreciate you!

Spring SOL Testing

Students will be participating in spring assessments based on their grade level and courses. This includes summative assessments like Standards of Learning (SOL) tests, which measure what a student knows, and progress assessments like Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests, which measure where they are in their learning.

Parents and caregivers can help their children perform their best on these tests by reminding them to get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and the cell phone policy still applies during testing season.

It is important that students attend school on scheduled testing dates. If you are aware of a conflict that may cause your student to miss a test, please notify your student’s school as soon as possible.

Learn more about how to support your child and why test participation matters.

Happy School Lunch Hero Day

This morning Food Services presented our Woodburn Cafeteria Team with a Certificate of Excellence for their outstanding operational practices. Read what was shared about them below. We are so incredibly lucky to have such an incredible team supporting our Wildcats each day. Congratulations ladies!

“The Woodburn Elementary School Kitchen Team is a truly deserving recipient of recognition during School Hero Week. Despite being a small team of just four staff members, they consistently operate at an exceptional level of efficiency and professionalism. Under the leadership of Manager Ms. Villegas, whose attention to detail and impeccable paperwork set a high standard, the team maintains outstanding operational practices. This team goes above and beyond in serving students. They treat every child with kindness, respect, and genuine care, ensuring that each meal is not only nutritious and high-quality but also delivered with warmth and compassion. This team exemplifies what it means to be School Heroes—dedicated, hardworking, and deeply committed to the well-being of the students they serve.”
