This week is Staff Appreciation Week! The PTA and the school have combined efforts to celebrate staff with a special surprise each day. We can't wait to shower our staff in appreciation!

Families and students are welcome to show additional appreciation to staff in any way they choose! Thank you for helping us celebrate our amazing educators! 


Volunteer Breakfast - May 7th

Oak Hill Elementary’s "Nebula Horizon" Team Shines at 2026 FIRST Championship World Festival with Rising All-Star Award.

Following their 1st Place Champion’s Award at the Virginia FIRST LEGO League (FLL) State Championship, Oak Hill Elementary’s "Nebula Horizon" team achieved national recognition at the 2026 FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas (April 29–May 2). Representing Virginia, these Oak Hill fifth graders competed against 160 top teams globally, securing 61st place. Furthermore, Nebula Horizon was awarded "The Rising All-Star Award" at the 2026 FIRST Championship World Festival. This prestigious award highlights the team’s exceptional potential, outstanding teamwork, creativity, and rapid growth - identifying them as a future powerhouse in the competition.

Want to be on the PTA Board next year?

We have some open positions for next school year and would love to have you join our team! Please visit the PTA website for more information.  We will hold an election to finalize the board at the last PTA meeting on May 13th.

Our next PTA meeting will be on Wednesday, May 13th at 6pm. This meeting will be in person in the Oak Hill Cafeteria! Please join us! We will be voting on next year’s board during this meeting!

Summer Book Exchange- Volunteers Needed !

When: June 2nd (Grades 4–6), June 3rd (Grades Pre-K–3)

Your child can drop off up to 15 gently used books in dedicated bins in the lobby and at Kiss'n'Ride starting May 11th.  Your child should take one paper receipt and write down the total number of books donated (up to 15). They can give the receipt to their teacher to keep until the book exchange. At the book exchange, your child can select the same number of books as previously donated.

Mental Health Awareness Month is about more than awareness. It’s about showing up for one another. It provides a chance to stand with your community and show that no one struggles alone. National Speech-Language-Hearing Month

Each May, National Speech-Language-Hearing Month (NSLHM) provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of speech and hearing professionals providing life-altering treatment.


Summer Camp @ Oak Hill ES

Who:  Rising 4th through 7th graders

When:  3 one week sessions starting July 6, July 13, and July 20th

Time: 8:30-3:30

Money Camp is $320 per week. 

Money Camp is back this year! Students get jobs, pay bills, and learn all about economic concepts through a real-life simulation, while also creating a product to sell at our Market Day! Check us out on the FCPS Facebook page!

Rising Kindergarteners

Discover Exciting Summer Learning Activities and Ideas

Join Fairfax County Public Schools for a free, family-friendly community celebration filled with hands-on STEM, arts, and creative experiences for students of all ages. This year’s Summer Extravaganza takes place on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Woodson High School

FCPS PreK and Early Head Start

The FCPS PreK and Early Head Start programs provide a high-quality early learning experience for qualifying children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old.

PreK: For children who will be age 3 or 4 by September 30, with priority given to 4-year-olds.  Oak Hill ES has a pre-Kindergarten class.

Early Head Start: For children ages 0–2 and pregnant women who live in the Reston, Herndon, and Springfield areas.  This would be at another location.
