Dear Hayfield Community -
Teacher Appreciation Week is next week, and we encourage our entire community to take a moment to recognize the incredible work of our teachers. A simple thank-you note, kind email, or small gesture of appreciation can go a long way in making our staff feel valued. Families can also partner with their students to share words of gratitude or support throughout the week. Our teachers make a lasting impact every day, and this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate them. Please also review the important information below regarding student computer use to help ensure expectations are clear and consistently followed.

🗨️DiBari's Dispatch
Hey Hawk Family–
It was another great week here at Hayfield! As you’ll see below, we had some fantastic events. If you weren’t able to get out to the Kingstowne cup, you missed an incredible event. The stands were packed, the energy was high, and we also won the student/principal relay (mostly because the students got us such a large lead that I couldn’t mess it up)! I would love to see this type of energy continue to grow across all events. Speaking of which, reminder that Cinderella opens this weekend so make sure to get your tickets before they sell out.
Also, I want to remind you that we had English SOLs this week, and will continue into our SOL and AP testing season. Check in with your students to make sure that they are getting prepped, but also that they’re holding up alright. It is a busy time of the year and the end is also in sight, so I want to make sure that we’re finishing strong. If you need any support, you can always reach out to teachers, counselors and administrators (myself included).
Lastly, it is Teacher Appreciation week next week. We have an INCREDIBLE staff here at Hayfield and they certainly deserve the love. Don’t shy away from sending a quick e-mail to a teacher that has had an impact on your student and/or family, and encourage your students to do the same. Let them feel the love!
I wish you all a fantastic weekend…Go Hawks!

The Hayfield Best Buddies club participated in the Best Buddies DC Friendship Walk on Sat April 25th. Over 2,000 registered walkers (plus many 4-legged buddies😊) braved the chilly wind to walk on the Mall in Washington, D.C. for the annual Friendship Walk.

Kingstowne Cup
The Kingstowne Cup was an exciting and spirited event as Hayfield faced off against our cross-town rival, Twain Middle School, in basketball. Our girls team secured a strong victory, while the boys team fought hard in a thrilling game that came down to the final moments, falling short by just one point.

The event was well attended by both school communities, creating an electric and supportive atmosphere. We are excited to continue this growing tradition in the years ahead. A big shoutout to Coach Abella for his leadership in planning and bringing this event to life!

Kiss and Ride, Door 9 Reminders
We have recently seen an increase in parent and student parking in the back lot near Door 9. Please be reminded that students are only permitted to park in their assigned spaces in the front of the building. Families using kiss-and-ride may utilize the band parking lot (near the basketball courts) to park and wait for doors to open.
Additionally, the kiss-and-ride lane is intended to remain a continuous, flowing process. Please do not park in the kiss-and-ride line or in staff-designated spaces, as this helps ensure a safe and efficient arrival for all students.
