Principal’s Message

Happy Friday Wolverine Community,
As of today, May 1, there are 38 total days left till GRADUATION!
Next week is Staff/Teacher Appreciation Week. We have the hardest working most dedicated staff in FCPS!
Last Friday, our amazing Government curriculum team arranged for Congressman Beyer to come speak to our Government students. He was engaging and we really appreciated his time.

Greetings, West Potomac Community! Konnor’s Garden Society and The Global Care Club are proud to sponsor a Craft Fair Fundraiser for the Special Education Department this coming Saturday, May 2nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Come out and support us as we welcome a variety of vendors featuring handcrafted jewelry, books, handmade quilted and knitted clothing, novelty items, unique resin gifts, bamboo and small figurines, framed art, keychains, bracelets, and many other one-of-a-kind items. We are looking forward to a great event this Saturday and hope to see you there as we work together to make it a success! We are also looking for volunteers to assist with vendor setup, light event support, and other small tasks throughout the day. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to Mr. Cooper (lcooper@fcps.edu) and join us in making this event a success.
This week has started the beginning of Senior Nights in activities and athletics. This is such an exciting time for our students, especially our seniors.
On Thursday, I was able to congratulate three Wolverines (S.E.A.L S) Student Equity Ambassador Leads, that participated in the student panel for the 2026 Equity Lead Institute. The students are Amy Argueya-Aparicio, Obson Gurmu, and Annalise Richardson.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Test Prep News!
Summer SAT Test Prep Class Registration Open
There is enough interest to run one summer SAT prep class targeting prep for the August 22 official SAT. This in an in-person class, Gunston Building, Room 190A.
Registration and schedule are available at https://guidewelleducation.onecanoe.com/applerouth/registration/create?event_code=SATBE5A.
Next Mock Test Date 5/9/26 REGISTER HERE
Most students will show a strong preference for either the SAT or ACT format. This preference usually results in students naturally testing the SAT equivalent of 100 points higher on their preferred test. Sponsored by PTSA, mock tests are offered through Applerouth to help students determine their preferred format and establish baseline test scores – not to mention the benefits of practice. Sophomores can make their junior year less hectic by determining test preference late in their sophomore year!
Need Based Scholarships for mock tests and classes are available through the College and Career Center
