Good afternoon!

It is hard to believe that we have already reached the month of May! Our school has been a buzz of activity as we officially kicked off the spring testing season. Our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders completed their Reading SOLs this week, and we are incredibly proud of the focus and determination they showed. It has been a strong start to the testing window, and we know our Eagles will continue to do their best!

Next week is a very special time as we celebrate Staff Appreciation Week. We are so excited to honor our amazing staff and show them how much we value their hard work and dedication to our students every single day. A huge thank you to the many families who donated to help make this a week filled with joy for our team.

We look forward to a wonderful month of May ahead!

Whether students and families are learning about our AAP program, building friendships at recess, or acting as Principal for the Day, every Eagle plays an essential role in our school. At CES, we know that every student belongs and contributes to our wonderful community! 🦅✨😊

This year, our front display case will incorporate a collaborative approach between CES teachers and families. We will use the FCPS recognized heritage and celebration months. Families and CES staff are invited to share books, artifacts, pictures, etc. for each month.

Windows represent the opportunities we have to learn about different cultures, abilities and backgrounds. Mirrors represent children feeling valued and gives them a sense of belonging which can help validate their own experiences and identities. Doors represent experiencing another life and promotes empathy.

We will celebrate Jewish American History Month and Asian American & Pacific Islanded Heritage Month in May.  If your family wants to send something in, please contact Aubrey Thorne- adthorne@fcps.edu.

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow.

We All Belong Here!

In FCPS, we all belong. From the first day of school, to the last day of school, every child matters. If your student is having a hard time finishing the year strong and attending school, please contact a trusted adult at our school — a teacher, counselor, or administrator. Visit FCPS’ website for more attendance resources.

Our students are having a blast exploring the world beyond our classroom walls on their spring field trips! It is wonderful to see how these hands-on adventures bring learning to life and create memories that will last a lifetime. 🚌🌳✨

Centreville Elementary School will be participating in Bike & Roll to School Day on May 6, 2026.

This event encourages students to walk, bike, or roll to school to promote physical activity, safety, and community spirit. We hope you can join in this fun event on Wednesday, May 6th!

In our Literacy Lab, teachers and students work side-by-side to explore the magic of reading together! We are so grateful for our amazing reading specialist, Mrs. Carey, for making every language arts lesson meaningful and engaging for our Eagles. 📚✨
