Month of the Military Child Assemblies
Alt Text: Two parents share their military experiences with students in an assembly setting.
In April, we celebrated the Month of the Military Child with a series of grade-level assemblies honoring our military-connected families. Crossfield students heard firsthand from parents who shared stories, perspectives, and a glimpse into military life and culture. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Alexander, Mr. Best, Ms. Glubzinski, Ms. Kasper, and Ms. Martinez for your time, and thanks also to your strong and resilient “dandelion” children who bloom where they are planted.
7th Grade Immunization Requirement
The Code of Virginia,(https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title22.1/chapter14/section22.1-271.2/) , requires all students to be immunized against certain communicable diseases. All students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations prior to the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. Students who do not meet this requirement will be unable to start school in the fall.
If you have records of these Immunization, please submit them to Kristy Kim at kskim1@fcps.edu
Spring testing season is here! 📅
Alt text: Whiteboard on a rolling stand in a school hallway reads, “Shh… Testing is being done today.”
Be sure to put testing dates on your family calendar so you don't forget. Here are some ways to prepare before a test: - Remind your child to get a good night's rest. - Make sure your child has a healthy breakfast. - Avoid scheduling appointments that would take your child out of school on a testing day. - Remind your child that electronic devices are not allowed in testing, unless required by 504 or IEP.
