On the birthday of the Fairfax County Public Schools Director of Practical Nursing, Jan Rayl, students in the Practical Nursing program hear a presentation given by her sister about a charity that is near to her heart and feet. This presentation is about Hope Walks, an organization that provides leather shoe forms which will be made into corrective shoes to help treat children born with clubfoot. Each Practical Nursing student decorated the shoes that will be sent to Countries around the world where the need is greatest.
Students from the Medical Assistant, EMT and Dental Careers classes attended the Fairhill Elementary School Career Day event and taught these young students about health care careers.
Dental Careers students demonstrate good oral hygiene with these elementary students.
EMT students help elementary students try on fire gear while talking to them about the role of EMT's in emergency situations.
