April was Month of the Military Child

Lees Corner celebrates the resilience of students from military families who often navigate unique challenges and experiences. Our school honors these students through Purple Up Day as well as through our Recognition Board created by our Kindness Ambassadors, to highlight and support our brave, adaptable young heroes!

Parent Input Form

At Lees Corner ES, your child’s success is our top priority. To determine the appropriate educational environment for your child for the 2026-2027 school year, we invite you to share information regarding your child’s needs. 

Your input is appreciated. Every effort will be made to place your child in the type of learning environment that supports their needs. In addition, please do not request specific teachers. We're unable to honor specific teacher requests.

This form (https://forms.gle/DHebafoqNxYwaUpr6) is optional. If you choose to provide input, please submit one form per child no later than Monday, May 18, 2026.

Wednesday, April 29th

Evening Performance 6:30pm @ Franklin Middle School, band students must arrive at 6pm for warm up.

ALL are welcome! Band students are encouraged to invite family, friends, and neighbors to this free evening performance!

(Band Students will also be performing a short assembly during the school day for students and staff)


FCPS ARTS Camps

It’s not too late to register for Institute of the arts!  Looking for  a fun week(s) for kids to keep learning in the arts, check out these programs run by FCPS!

 

Institute for the Arts (IFTA) Grades 6–11 Two sessions: July 6–17 and July 20–31 Students select four courses in visual art, music, theatre, dance, film, and design. Sessions culminate in a showcase/exhibition. We also offer Online Health & PE 9 for rising sophomores – a popular option for students interested in freeing up an elective slot in their schedule!

Elementary Institute for the Arts (E-IFTA) Grades K–5 Four one-week sessions: July 6–31 Students rotate daily through art, music, theatre, and dance in a joyful, age-appropriate environment led by FCPS arts teachers.

Discover Exciting Summer Learning Activities and Ideas

Join Fairfax County Public Schools for a free, family-friendly community celebration filled with hands-on STEM, arts, and creative experiences for students of all ages. This year’s Summer Extravaganza takes place on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Woodson High School. 

Explore summer learning resources and connect with FCPS offices and community partners. Don’t miss the Student Market and a full day of engaging activities designed to spark learning, growth, and inspiration for the whole family.

Family Information Phone Lines

FCPS family information phone lines are available in nine different languages. An FCPS employee will respond to your call in your preferred language within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. 

Call the phone line with questions about your child’s education or FCPS, and someone will help connect you to resources or arrange for you to speak to the appropriate school employee. Learn more about family information phone lines.

If your student is having a hard time finishing the year strong and attending school, please contact a trusted adult at our school — a teacher, counselor, or administrator. In a modern day twist of the beloved classic, join Alice as she loses herself in her books and struggles to find any excitement at school. All that changes when she magically ends up in Wonderland trying to help the Mad Hatter throw the perfect "Merry Unbirthday Party" for the Queen of Hearts! Join Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat and all of your favorite characters as they learn the true meaning of friendship and bravery!

Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services would like to invite your family to an Ice Cream Party!  Free ice cream on Saturday, May 2 from 12-2pm at Ox Hill Baptist Church, 4101 Elmwood St., Chantilly VA  20151 (located across the Lexus dealership).  Fairfax County resource information will be provided.
