Be Internet Awesome

The Glasgow PTA is excited to invite you to our Be Internet Awesome program TODAY Thursday, April 23rd at 6:00pm at Glasgow Middle School, sponsored by Google and YouTube.

During this digital education event, parents and caregivers will have the chance to:

  1. Learn about how to keep their families smart, alert, strong, kind and brave online.
  2. Explore the Be Internet Awesome Family Guide and Google’s Family Link app.
  3. Engage with their peers to discuss their families’ online experiences and solutions.

Glasgow Theater Presents: BEETLEJUICE Jr

Come and Join Glasgow Theatre Group for our Spring Musical 2026 “BeetleJuice Jr”

Glasgow MS SOL Tutoring

Glasgow will offer after-school tutoring to help students prepare for the SOL tests in Reading, Math, and Grade 8 Science. Students will review important skills and practice test-taking strategies for each subject.

The program will run through April 30, Monday–Thursday during first session of After School Program.

Please encourage your student to sign up and participate. Families can register online the same way they sign up for other after-school programs.

College and Career week next week

National Junior Honor Society

Would you like your child to build fundamental skills based on Scholarship, Service, Character, Leadership, and Citizenship? If so, the Glasgow Chapter of NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) is now recruiting new members. Paper applications will be available in Student Services starting Monday, April 13th and the deadline to turn in applications will be Friday, May 8th. NJHS is only for rising 7th and 8th graders who have a 3.5 GPA (mostly As and Bs). If your student applies and is accepted, they should be committed to attending meetings every other week after school, completing 20 community service hours, and eager to be a part of the school community. VIP SUMMER CAMP

It’s hard to believe the school year is almost over! As a reminder, the last day of the after-school program will be Thursday, May 21, 2026.

SPRING TRACK

Support Glasgow at Our First Track & Field Meet!

This Saturday, Glasgow will be competing in the first track and field meet of the season!

If you’re interested in supporting and cheering on our student-athletes, we’d love to see you at Mt. Vernon High School. The meet will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m.

Registration for FCPS athletic preparticipation exams (physicals) is now open: APPOINTMENT REGISTRATION

 

All middle and high school students interested in participating in school athletic programs MUST have a valid athletic physical on file with their school prior to participating.  All rising middle school students, specifically those who will be in 7th or 8th grade (and rising 6th graders at Poe, Glasgow, and Holmes middle schools) next school year (2026-2027) interested in participating in the middle school sports program are eligible to receive a FREE athletic physical exam through these events.

Athletic physicals are coordinated by the certified athletic trainers at our FCPS high schools and are only available at the dates and times indicated.  Students must register in advance and additional information is available through the link above.

 Last Day of After-School & Summer Camp Opportunity

This is a friendly reminder that the last day of the after-school program will be Thursday, May 21st.

If you’re looking for summer opportunities for your student(s), Glasgow will be hosting the VIP (Value in Prevention) Camp from July 1st through July 30th, 2026. This program offers a variety of fun activities, field trips, and opportunities for students to build new friendships.

First Responder Interaction Day

First Responder Interaction Day will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Fire Academy (4600 West Ox Road). This event provides a supportive environment for participants to build familiarity with first responders through activities such as hands-only CPR, calling 9-1-1, and a mock traffic stop.

A variety of local agencies and organizations will be present to share resources and information. The event is free, open to everyone, and attendees may drop in at any time. Registration is not required but is encouraged.

Dive into the world of health sciences with
