We had a lot happening this week! We recognized our amazing office staff during Administrative Professionals Week, thank you for all you do. We truly could not do this work without you.
We also enjoyed a fantastic Strings Concert, where our talented musicians showcased their hard work and dedication. Thank you to Ms. Reid for preparing our students for this wonderful performance. On Thursday, we welcomed our newest families during Kindergarten Orientation, already beginning to build connections for the year ahead.
All week, we celebrated Earth Day Spirit Week, which culminated in a workday on Saturday. We are grateful to the many families who joined us to help clean up the SVES grounds and plant together. Additionally, Austin Grisard, Eagle Scout, SLHS junior, and former SVES student, along with approximately 10 others, broke ground on our Three Sisters Garden and the pumpkin patch. It was quite the day!
Looking ahead to next week, we are excited for Walk, Bike, and Roll to School day on Wednesday. We encourage all students who are able to participate and enjoy a healthy, active start to the day. That same evening, we look forward to our Band Concert, where students will once again have the opportunity to shine and share their musical growth.
Enjoy the weekly report!

Our students and families showed incredible generosity during our Stuff the Bus initiative this past week. We collected donations throughout the week to support the South Lakes Food Pantry. Collecting over 2,860 pounds of food! Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make a difference in our community.

Students in grades 3-12 took the SEL Screener during the month of March, providing information on their SEL skills like achieving goals, understanding and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.
Individual student SEL Screener results are now available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, we will share copies with you directly.
For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the Family Guide or reach out to Jen Samuel or Laura Hayes, our school counselors.
Thank you to Holly Reynolds and Melissa DiLoreto for creating the balloon arch and Kindergarten welcome sign, it was a wonderful photo opportunity for families. I even saw a few students pick up some SVES gear as they stopped by the PTA table. It was a great evening!
