Dear Sleepy Hollow School Community,
Thank you to all who joined us for our Math & Literacy Game Night! We had a full house, and it was wonderful to see so many families engaged in learning together. Each child received a backpack filled with math and literacy games to continue the fun at home. We truly appreciate your participation in making this event such a success.
On Wednesday, we held a Purple Up Assembly to honor and celebrate our military-connected students. We are grateful to our special guest speaker, Dr. Mattie Fallen, former principal of Sleepy Hollow, for joining us and sharing her message of appreciation and support. It was a memorable event for our entire school community.
As we begin planning for next school year, we welcome family input regarding the type of teaching style that best supports your child’s learning. If you would like to share this information, please email me and your child’s current classroom teacher. While we are unable to accept specific teacher requests, your insights about your child’s needs and preferences are very helpful as we thoughtfully consider class placements.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
With appreciation,
Principal Vega

Principal Survey
|
An official Principal Evaluation Survey will be sent directly from HR beginning tomorrow. The survey is anonymous, and your feedback is incredibly important to me. It helps me reflect on my leadership and continue to grow in ways that best support our students, staff, and families. You will receive reminders until you complete it or the window closes on April 19. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts. It means a lot to me to learn what is working and what could be better. This is more than just my evaluation; it also helps ground me in being the best I can be for the Sleepy Hollow community
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a strong and joyful finish to the school year.

April Early Release Wednesdays Canceled
Elementary Early Release Wednesday Update for Tuesday, April 21, is now a teacher workday and staff development day because of a recently announced special election that will impact all FCPS schools.
Students will now have a traditional full day of instruction and be released at the regular dismissal time on April 22 and April 29, which were previously early release Wednesdays for elementary schools.
This adjustment allows our staff to still have dedicated time for planning, collaboration, and professional learning without reducing instructional time on other school days.Read Dr. Reid’s letter to elementary parents for more details.
2026 Special Education Family Conference: Rescheduled
FCPS’ 2026 Special Education Family Conference has been rescheduled to Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Marshall High School. Updated conference details are now available on the Special Education Family Conference webpage. Please register for the event. If you registered before, please re-register for the new date. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this date change may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Community Conversations: Share Your Thoughts With Dr. Reid
As a listening leader, connecting with community members across our school division is critical to FCPS Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid. Her Community Conversations are opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ask questions. Events will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on:
Click on a date to register to attend that event. Registration is not required, but helps with planning, especially for child care and interpretation services. Events are open to all. Visit the superintendent’s engagement page for the most up-to-date information.
