Kindergarten students enjoy time in PE!

Small School, BIG Heart!

Dear Fairfax Villa Community,

We hope this message finds you well and that you’ve had a wonderful week. It has been a joy to see our students so engaged in their learning as we begin to gear up for the upcoming testing season in May. Classrooms are full of focused effort, and our students have been working hard to show all that they know. We will be sharing more detailed information about SOL testing for students in grades three through six in the coming weeks, so please keep an eye out for that communication.

We are also looking forward to a fun and exciting community event—Bingo Night—happening this Friday, the 24th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This is always a special evening for our school, offering students a chance to connect, laugh, and enjoy time together outside of the school day. We will also have a raffle to raise money for the school, and we are excited for you to see the fun prizes that will be available!

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. Your collaboration makes such a meaningful difference in the success and well-being of our students and our school community.

As a reminder, schools will be closed on Tuesday in observance of the Virginia Special Election.

We are grateful for a strong week behind us and look forward to another great week ahead.

Warmly,

Ms. Textoris & Mrs. Burke

🩺Required Immunizations for Rising 7th Graders

As required by the Code of VA, parents or legal guardians need to provide proof of immunizations for their child to attend at a Virginia public school.

In addition, all students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations

  • Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap) given at age 7 or older;
  • Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) given at age 10 or older;
  • A complete series of 2 doses of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

After reviewing educational materials approved by the Board of Health, the parent or guardian, at the parents or guardians sole discretion, may elect for the child not to receive the HPV vaccine.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to plan ahead by scheduling an appointment with your child’s healthcare provider now to avoid the rush this summer. Immunization appointments are available. Inspire Health Alliance will be providing immunizations for currently enrolled FCPS students at no out-of-pocket cost. Visit the Inspire Immunization Events Student Registration webpage to schedule an appointment.

Please review the Virginia Department of Health Information Packet (PDF) for more information on rising 7th grade immunization requirements.

Additional Immunization Resources are also available.

🛝Community Peers Playdate and Opportunity

We are pleased to announce that we will have community peers in our preschool program for the 26-27 school year. This will involve teaching preschoolers with delays and without delays in the same classroom. It can provide young children with a more stimulating environment, teach skills for coping with different situations, and provide the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills.

Our program will invite a limited number of community preschoolers (1-2 per class), who are aged 3.5-5 years, to participate in our daily preschool activities. The children from the community will have the opportunity to make new friends and share experiences with current early childhood special education students. Our students will, in turn, benefit from being with community peers who can model appropriate language, motor, and social skills.

On April 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM we will be holding a playdate on the playground for your student and parent information session in the main office. You and your student must attend the playdate/parent information session. Please let us know if you are interested. by calling the school at 703-267-2800.
