Principal's Message

April bring a month of celebration and recognition, what a wonderful time of the year! Thank you to everyone for a fabulous fun fair on Friday. We could not have pulled this off without the leadership of our PTA chairs and volunteers.  What a beautiful evening of fun and community building. Your support of this amazing event directly supports our PTA and in turn, our Chesterbrook staff and students. Congratulations to all of our raffle winners. A full list of teacher raffle and basket raffle winners are below.

This week our Band, Strings and Chorus groups showcased their talent at our year end concerts. It was wonderful to hear the culmination of the work done this year and celebrate their growth with families. Thank you to Mr. Morris and Mrs. Berthelsen, Chorus teachers, Mr. Smith, Band teacher, and Mrs. Su, Strings teacher for their leadership of our groups this year. We also celebrated our military children this week with Purple Up day and a Stars, Stripes and Sprinkles Ice Cream Social in our pond courtyard and Purple Up day on Wednesday. Next week we look forward to teaching our students about Autism Acceptance Day and Earth Week.

This weekend we have two special events with our Science Olympiad competition and All County Choir performance. I look forward to visiting our students this Saturday as they showcase their talents with other amazing Fairfax County students. I have no doubt our chipmunks will shine bright at these events and am so proud of their efforts. Thank you to Mr Morris and Mrs. Berthelsen for their direction of our All County Choir and Mrs. Jankowski for leading our Science Olympiad along with our parent volunteers. Thank you to Mrs. Lomelin and Ms. O'Prandy, school counselors, and Ms. Mahoney, school social worker, for organizing our ice cream event for military children.

Report cards are posted in Parent Vue for families and hard copies were sent home today. Please also monitor the attendance for your children as we want to close out this year strong. I will be sending attendance report cards very soon to provide updates to all families. We appreciate your support in helping your children be on time and ready for learning.

Sincerely,

Stacy Kirkpatrick, Principal
Lara Macdonald, Assistant Principal

Stars, Stripes and Sprinkles Ice Cream Social

Stars Stripes and Sprinkles

Chesterbrook celebrated our military-connected youth with a Stars, Stripes, and Sprinkles Ice Cream Social! Students enjoyed a cool, sweet treat while spending time together in the beautiful weather by our fish and turtle pond.

We are proud to honor our military-connected students, who serve in their own meaningful ways—supporting their families, adapting to new schools, and sharing their unique experiences with peers.
