Dear Terraset Families,
Congratulations!! Our current chronic absenteeism rate is 6.4%!!! On this day last year, we were at 13.4%. As you know, our goal is to stay below 10% all year and we are on a great path. Please note that attendance is taken daily through the last day of school. This also includes tardies and early dismissals for our students. Every day that we partner together to keep chronic absenteeism down, we provide all Tigers with the environment to thrive and succeed. Let’s continue to work together to stay below 10% for the remainder of this year! As the weather turns warmer and summer approaches, we will need your help to ensure all of our Tigers are present and engaged in learning all day, every day. We are grateful for all of your partnership!
Warmly,
Katie Aldridge, Principal
Dave Ickowski, Assistant Principal

💜Purple Up! Day- Tomorrow 4/15
Fairfax County Public Schools will celebrate military-connected youth this month as part of the Month of the Military Child. FCPS proudly supports approximately 14,500 military-connected students.
This year, Virginia will observe Purple Up! Day on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. On this special day, communities are encouraged to wear purple as a visible sign of support for military-connected children and their families. Purple represents the combined colors of all branches of the military.
We encourage all students and staff to wear purple on Wednesday, April 15, to show their support.
For more information or to connect with FCPS resources, please contact us at militaryfamilies@fcps.edu.
Thank you for helping us honor and support our military-connected students and families.

- Wednesday, April 22 – Earth Day - wear green
- Thursday, April 23 – Climate Change Day - wear red
- Friday, April 24- Watershed Day - wear blue
🎤Help FCPS Sustain Excellence: Make Your Voice Heard on the FY 2027 Budget
About 70% of the FCPS budget comes from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. There are several upcoming opportunities to provide feedback to the county on its budget before final adoption in May. This includes public budget hearings (April 14-16) and an online survey. Learn how the FCPS budget helps us sustain our excellence.

📅Elementary Early Release Wednesday Update for April
Tuesday, April 21, is now a teacher workday and staff development day because of a recently announced special election that will impact all FCPS schools.
Students will now have a traditional full day of instruction and be released at the regular dismissal time on April 22, which was previously an early release Wednesday for Terraset.
This adjustment allows our staff to still have dedicated time for planning, collaboration, and professional learning without reducing instructional time on other school days.Read Dr. Reid’s letter to elementary parents for more details.
🚌STUFF THE BUS 2026

🗣️Community Conversations: Share Your Thoughts With Dr. Reid
