Small School, BIG Heart! 💓

Dear Fairfax Villa Community,

It has been wonderful to welcome our students back into the building after Spring Break! We are excited about the promise of the fourth quarter and the growth, both academic and social-emotional, that this final stretch of the school year brings.

As we move through April, we have several exciting opportunities for our school community:

  • Purple Up! Day – Wednesday, April 15th: We invite all students and staff to wear purple as we show our support and appreciation for our military-connected students and families. This is a meaningful way for our community to come together in recognition of their service and sacrifice.
  • PTA Board Opportunities & PTA Meeting on Thursday, April 16th: We are beginning to plan for the upcoming school year and encourage parents to consider getting involved in our PTA. Serving on the PTA board is a wonderful way to support our school, build connections, and make a positive impact on our students’ experiences. See our information below about how to get involved.
  • Bingo Night – April 24th: We hope you will join us for our upcoming Bingo Night! This is always a fun-filled evening for families and a great chance to come together as a school community.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are grateful for the strong connection between home and school and look forward to a successful and rewarding fourth quarter together.

Warmly,

Ms. Textoris & Mrs. Burke

📅April Statewide Election: No School for Students

There will be no school for students on Tuesday, April 21, for the Virginia statewide election. Student activities, athletic practices, and events may proceed as scheduled.

FCPS will offer lunch and a snack at no cost to children aged 18 and under on Tuesday, April 21, at participating schools. The meals must be eaten on site, and enrichment activities will be available for the children. For more information, visit the FCPS Food and Nutrition Services webpage.

🛝Community Peers Playdate and Opportunity

We are pleased to announce that we will have community peers in our preschool program for the 26-27 school year. This will involve teaching preschoolers with delays and without delays in the same classroom. It can provide young children with a more stimulating environment, teach skills for coping with different situations, and provide the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills.

Our program will invite a limited number of community preschoolers (1-2 per class), who are aged 3.5-5 years, to participate in our daily preschool activities. The children from the community will have the opportunity to make new friends and share experiences with current early childhood special education students. Our students will, in turn, benefit from being with community peers who can model appropriate language, motor, and social skills.

On April 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM we will be holding a playdate on the playground for your student and parent information session in the main office. You and your student must attend the playdate/parent information session. Please let us know if you are interested. by calling the school at 703-267-2800.
