LAMBMOWERS!

As we continue to bring engaging and unique learning experiences to our school, we are excited to share that we are preparing a special outdoor space near Door 9 as part of an upcoming visit from lambs. These “lambmowers” will help us care for our green spaces in a fun and environmentally friendly way.

You may notice small flags placed in the grass in this area. These flags are marking sections where we are intentionally allowing the grass to grow in preparation for the lambs’ arrival.

We ask for your support in reminding students to respect these markers by not disturbing or removing the flags and by staying out of the designated areas. This will help ensure the space is ready and safe for this special experience.

Thank you for helping us care for our school grounds and for supporting this exciting opportunity for our students.

Full-Time AAP Orientation

Families,

We know some of you are in the process of determining the best placement to meet your students’ advanced academic needs for next school year (Local Full-Time AAP, center-based Full-Time AAP, or deferring Full-Time AAP services and accessing Part-Time AAP services instead).

To help you determine what is best for your student, schools where your student can access Full-Time AAP services hold orientations to provide information on more school-specific topics.

Our school, Rolling Valley Elementary, will hold an orientation on Thursday, April 30, from 5:30- 6:30 pm in the library. We will explain how we implement our Full Time Advanced Academics plan, and the unique and exciting opportunities we offer our students at Rolling Valley. You will have a chance to meet some of the staff and ask more personalized questions.

We look forward to meeting with you! Please reach out to Krystyn Carey with any questions- krcarey@fcps.edu.

We hope that you can join us!

Sincerely,

Veronica Del Bagno, Principal

Camp Details:

Spartan Volleyball Camp is designed and has a session for athletes of all skill levels who are eager to enhance their game in a challenging and supportive environment. Camp sessions are structured by age and skill level to ensure every player receives personalized instruction and the best opportunity for growth.

Campers will have the unique opportunity to train with experienced high school coaches from across the country, as well as current college athletes. Campers in Session A and B will also get to work with the high school athletes from the Virginia State Champions team! Sessions will include individual skill development, group instruction, and competitive tournament play, all designed to help players refine their technique, build confidence, and elevate their overall performance.

Session C is ONLY for advanced players.  Unfortunately, we do not have a session for rising 10th-12th graders who are new to volleyball or who only have freshmen team level experience and/or rec volleyball experience.  Athletes attending Session C must have played on their high school Varsity or JV team or are currently playing on a competitive club team. If you are signing up for Session C, the expectation is that you are playing volleyball at or close to the Varsity level.  Most rising 9th graders should be attending session B.
