Our Kindergarten Orientation was fantastic! Thank you to the team of individuals who made this day so special and successful!
Dear TLES Community,
This past week, we welcomed students back for a three-day school week as we officially entered the fourth quarter of the school year. It was wonderful to reconnect and settle back into routines as we began this important final stretch together. We are looking forward to a full five-day school week next week!
One of the highlights of our week was a truly special day at TLES as we welcomed our newest kindergarten families and reconnected with our returning families during Kindergarten Orientation. From the moment families walked through our doors, there was a sense of excitement, curiosity, and connection.
Our future students had the opportunity to explore their new school environment, meet our caring staff members, and begin building comfort and confidence for the year ahead. Families learned more about daily routines, expectations, and how we partner together to support each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth. Kindergarten is such an important milestone, and we are honored to walk alongside our families every step of the way. We cannot wait to see these bright young learners back in our halls soon—ready to grow, explore, and thrive.
This past week, we also proudly celebrated our incredible assistant principals, Mrs. Buchanan and Mrs. Duch, during National Assistant Principals Appreciation Week. Each day, they lead with heart, support with purpose, and put students first in all they do. They are constant sources of strength for our staff—offering guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear—and true partners to our families, building trust and meaningful connections that help our entire community thrive.
From supporting students through both challenges and celebrations, to empowering teachers, to connecting with families in impactful ways, their influence is felt in every corner of our school. Simply put, they mean so much to all of us.
💙 Thank you for being such an important part of our TLES community! 💛
With appreciation,
Ben Chiet, Principal
Happy National Assistant Principal Appreciation Week to two of THE BEST Assistant Principals - Mrs. Buchanan & Mrs. Duch!

📚Halfway Through Journeys and Themes in Language Arts
We are halfway through Benchmark Unit 6 in Language Arts! Across grade levels, students have explored stories involving quests, challenges, and problem-solving.
Connect with your child’s learning at school with these fun questions and hands-on activities at home:
- Question: Which character has been your favorite from this unit and why?
- Activity: With your child, brainstorm a brand-new invention to solve a problem, like shoelaces that tie themselves or a clothes dryer that folds clothes. Ask your child to tell or write a story about someone using the invention.
At the end of the unit, your child will take their unit magazine home. The magazine includes an activity calendar with fun ways to help students build on what they’re learning at each grade level. You can also find information on how to support your child’s reading at home on the Benchmark Families website.
