Madison Pyramid Families

Dear Madison Pyramid Families,

In the Madison Pyramid, we believe our schools and neighborhood are "Our Shared Home." To celebrate this, we are excited to share more about our Day of Service on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

This day moves learning beyond the classroom, helping students grow as Ethical and Global Citizens. Through hands-on service, students will learn that they have the power to strengthen their community through intentional, compassionate action. Each school will participate in unique ways tailored to their students' ages and interests.

At Madison, students will engage with a service activity during 4th period.  Our students have curated a variety of service projects for all students to choose from.  Here are some examples: handwriting letters to seniors in care facilities, creating gratitude letters to active-duty military and veterans, assembling family care kits for Ronald McDonald House, making care kits and cards for children in the hospital, making toys and blankets for animals in animal shelters, and beautifying JMHS.

We are asking for your support by donating supplies for our service projects. We have created an Amazon Wishlist, and below are some other items that can be donated to the main office during school hours.

Thank you for helping our students grow into community-minded leaders.

Amazon Wishlist   These items will be delivered directly to JMHS through Amazon.

Please place your order by Wednesday, April 8th.

Other Wishlist Items:  Please bring any donations to the main office by Friday, April 10.

We are also proud that our Day of Service coincides with "Purple Up! Day," a national observance during the Month of the Military Child, which is a time to recognize children from military-connected families for their contributions and sacrifices. We recognize that children serve too!  We encourage everyone to wear purple as a visible gesture of support for the resilience and sacrifices of our military-connected youth. Purple symbolizes the combined colors of all branches of the military.

JMHS is also hosting a free “Restorative Family Yoga” session for JMHS military-connected (all branches, Retired, Department of Defense, State Department, Foreign Affairs, and Ambassadors) families on April 15 from 6-7 pm via JMHS P.E. teacher and Restorative Certified Yoga instructor Mrs. Beth Gottschalk in the main gym. No need to plan dinner that night as JMHS will provide a healthy option after Yoga. Please use this link to sign up!  The sign-up closes on April 8. Feel free to contact Mrs. Kelly Hoffman regarding any questions and/or if you would like to help with the event- kchoffman1@fcps.edu.

Thank you for partnering with us to help our students grow into community-minded leaders.

Warmly,

Liz Calvert
