🍎Kindergarten Orientation

Kindergarten Orientation on Wednesday, April 8!

Rising kindergarteners and their parents are invited to attend "Kindergarten Orientation" on Wednesday, April 8, at 6:30 pm in the Sangster cafeteria. Hope to see you there!


📘Spring Book Fair April 14-17

Spring Book Fair April 14-17!

Sangster's Spring Book Fair will be held in the library from Tuesday, April 14-Friday, April 17.

On Family Cultural Night, Wednesday, April 15, the Book Fair will have evening hours from 6 pm-7:30 pm.

Volunteers are needed to help the Book Fair run smoothly. Please sign up here!

🌎Sangster's Family Cultural Night

Sangster's Annual Family Cultural Night April 15

Join us for our 3rd annual Family Cultural Night on Wednesday, April 15, from 6 – 7:30 pm! Visit the Book Fair at the same time!

Student Cultural Fashion Show
Students are invited to participate in a fashion show by wearing cultural attire. Each student will walk across the stage and share the culture they are representing.

Family Cultural Display Tables
Families are invited to host a table that highlights their culture and may include items such as posters, clothing, artwork, artifacts, or flags. Families may also choose to provide bite-sized food samples.

Families interested in participating in either of these opportunities can sign up here.

SOL Testing Schedule for 3rd-6th grades

Testing dates for 3rd-6th grades run April 28 through the end of May. 

3rd grade

Reading: Wednesday, 5/6

Math: Friday, 5/15

 

4th grade

Reading: Wednesday, 4/29

Math: Tuesday, 5/19

 

5th grade

Reading: Tuesday, 5/5

Science: Tuesday, 5/12 

Math: Wednesday, 5/20

 

6th grade

Reading: Tuesday, 4/28

Math/Algebra: Monday, 5/18

 

*Wednesday, 5/13: 3-hour early release NO TESTING

Monday, 5/25 - Wednesday, 5/27: No school

Thursday, 5/28-Wednesday, 6/3: Retakes. Parents will be notified if this applies to their student.

We ask that students arrive in school on time the day of their testing, with a good night's rest, a good breakfast and a full water bottle. Thank you for your support in your student's success!

April Sibshops and SibTeens

The Sibshops workshops are for children in grades 2-6 enrolled in Fairfax County Public Schools who have siblings with support needs to meet other siblings in a relaxed setting. Register here 

SibTeens is a community-building group for Middle School siblings of children with support needs in grades 6-9 enrolled in Fairfax County Public Schools. Register here

 

Community Resource Fair

Last 3-hour early release day for this year will be:

🚙Kiss and Ride Ends at 9:09 am

Staff leave the Kiss-n-Ride area around 9:09 am. If your child is brought to school at 9:10 am or after, they must be signed in at the main office by an adult.
