Students participated in a partner activity focused on communication skills.
Dear Fairfax Villa Community,
It was another great week at Fairfax Villa, where teachers and students were actively engaged in meaningful lessons, building strong connections, and truly enjoying their time together. It is always wonderful to see the sense of community that makes our school such a special place.
We were excited to welcome Dr. Reid into our building on March 10th. During her visit, she shared how impressed she was with the high level of instruction happening across classrooms, as well as the strong, positive relationships evident between students and staff. Her feedback is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire school community.
Thank you to all of our families who joined us for our Pi/Math Night. It was a joy to see so many of you spending time together, engaging in fun activities, and deepening math skills in such an interactive way. Events like these truly highlight the importance of home-school connection.
As a reminder, the end of the third quarter is quickly approaching at the end of next week. This is a great time to connect with your child’s teacher to discuss their areas of strength and opportunities for growth as we prepare to enter the fourth quarter. We encourage you to reach out and schedule a conference if you have not already done so.
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and for sharing your wonderful children with us each day. We are grateful to work alongside such a supportive and engaged community.
Warmly,
Ms. Textoris & Mrs. Burke

WHAT: Thanks to a grant from Educate Fairfax, we are able to begin a program for all of our families to check out Family Literacy Activity Bags from the Villa Library! The bags are designed for students of ALL AGES (including the adults) so that the entire family can enjoy reading together.
WHY:Reading at-home with your children is important to their reading and writing development. Children hear fluent reading, can discuss their understanding, and learn new vocabulary from reading a book with an adult.
HOW: Here is the link to the Check-out form and the required Permission form (you can complete them electronically).
Please submit a request via the link each week you would like a bag to go home on Thursday. We will reach out to let you know a bag is being checked out to you during the week.
At Fairfax Villa, we have a school improvement goal around improving our attendance rate. We would like to see our absenteeism rate decrease this year from 12% to 9%.
Here is our Attendance “Tip of the Week!”

Set Strong Morning Routines: Set a regular morning routine that builds in time for students to eat breakfast. You might consider using a visual check-list reminder for students each morning.
