Dear Olde Creek Families,

As we wrap up Quarter 3, we are heading into Spring Break with so much to celebrate. Our Bears have worked hard, grown in so many ways, and continue to make our school community something special.

We hope this break brings your family time to rest, recharge, and enjoy a little extra sunshine.

When we return, we will be ready to jump into Quarter 4 with energy and excitement. The final stretch of the school year is always a favorite, filled with memorable moments, celebrations, and plenty of fun in April, May, and June.

We cannot wait to spend it all together with our amazing Bears. Have a wonderful Spring Break!

Sincerely,

Courtney Korb

Elementary Early Release Wednesday

Update for April

Tuesday, April 21, is now a teacher workday and staff development day because of a recently announced special election that will impact all FCPS schools.

Students will have a traditional full day of instruction and be released at the regular dismissal time on April 22, which was previously an early release Wednesday for elementary schools.

This adjustment allows our staff to still have dedicated time for planning, collaboration, and professional learning without reducing instructional time on other school days. Read Dr. Reid’s letter to elementary parents for more details.

We Want Your Feedback! Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Questionnaire

On Monday, April 6, parents and guardians of Olde Creek Elementary will receive an email with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form. This questionnaire is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and provides an opportunity to share anonymous feedback about our school’s leadership and environment.

Topics covered in the survey include:

✅ Instructional leadership

✅ School climate

✅ Management (human resources and organizational)

✅ Communication and community relations

✅ Culturally responsive and equitable leadership

✅ Professionalism

The questionnaire will be open April 6 - April 19 and will be collected online. When you receive the email from noreply@fcps.edu, please take a few minutes to complete it. Your input is valuable and helps shape the future of our school. Thank you for your time and feedback!

Purple Up! Day - Month of the Military Child

Month of the Military Child and Purple Up Day!

April is the Month of the Military Child, and at Olde Creek, we are proud to celebrate the incredible strength, resilience, and spirit of our military-connected students.

Join us on Purple Up Day, April 15th, by wearing purple to show your support and appreciation. Purple Up Day is a special day for communities to come together and wear purple as a visible gesture of support for our military-connected youth and their families. Purple symbolizes the combined colors of all branches of the military.  As a Purple Star School, this day is especially meaningful to our community. It is a chance for all of us to stand together and recognize the sacrifices our military families make, especially the children who walk our halls each day.  Let’s turn Olde Creek purple and show our students just how much they are seen, valued, and celebrated!

FCPS Military Family Field Day will be held April 18.  This fun-filled day celebrates all FCPS military-connected children and families.  Military Family Field Day will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from noon to 2 p.m. at Annandale High School’s football stadium (4700 Medford Dr, Annandale, VA 22003).
