Due to the need to accommodate polling locations at our schools and worksites for the Virginia statewide election, FCPS schools will be closed for students on Tuesday, April 21.

Friday, March 27 - End of 3rd Quarter - 2 hour early release

March 30 - April 3 - Spring Break - School Closed

Monday, April 6 - Teacher Workday - Student Holiday

Friday, April 10 - School Planning Day - Student Holiday 

Tuesday, April 21 - Election Day - School Closed

Glasgow MS SOL Tutoring

Glasgow will offer after-school tutoring to help students prepare for the SOL tests in Reading, Math, and Grade 8 Science. Students will review important skills and practice test-taking strategies for each subject.

The program will run April 7 through April 30, Monday–Thursday during first session of After School Program.

Please encourage your student to sign up and participate. Families can register online the same way they sign up for other after-school programs.

FCPS Purple Up

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is gearing up to honor and celebrate its military-connected youth in April, the Month of the Military Child, and on Purple Up! Day! 

This year, Virginia will celebrate Purple Up! Day on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Purple Up! Day is a special day for communities to come together and wear purple as a visible gesture of support for our military-connected youth and their families. Purple symbolizes the combined colors of all branches of the military. 

FCPS Purple Up! T-shirts and other items are available for purchase now through Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in our Custom Ink online store. These items highlight our gratitude and appreciation for our 14,500 military-connected students and their families. #PurpleUpFCPS!

It’s hard to believe the school year is almost over! As a reminder, the last day of the after-school program will be Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Spring Track & Field Registration

Special Education Family Conference

Special Education Family Conference: Registration Open, Volunteers Needed

The 2026 Special Education Family Conference, Stronger Together: Connecting Families and Schools, will take place on Saturday, April 18, at Marshall High School. During this no-cost, in-person event, families will have the opportunity to hear a keynote address from internationally renowned educator and advocate, Dr. Shelley Moore, connect to resources and other families, and participate in afternoon sessions. 

FCPS families are invited to register to attend this year’s conference. Childcare, accommodations, and language interpretation are available.

Families are also invited to register to serve as an event volunteer by Thursday, March 19. Volunteer hours will be awarded to student volunteers.

Conferencia Familiar de Educación Especial: Inscripciones Abiertas, se Necesitan Voluntarios

La Conferencia Familiar de Educación Especial 2026, Juntos Somos más Fuertes: Conectando a Familias y Escuelas, se llevará a cabo el sábado 18 de abril, en la  Escuela Secundaria Marshall. Este es un evento gratuito, en persona, durante el cual las familias tendrán la oportunidad de escuchar la presentación de la maestra y activista, internacionalmente reconocida, Dra. Shelley Moore, podrán encontrar recursos útiles y participar en sesiones interesantes por la tarde. 

Las familias de FCPS están invitadas a inscribirse y asistir a la conferencia de este año. Estarán disponibles los servicios de Cuidado de Niños y de interpretación en otros idiomas, habrá comodidades para personas con discapacidades.

Las familias también están invitadas a registrarse para servir como voluntarios del evento antes del jueves 19 de marzo. Se otorgarán horas de voluntariado a los estudiantes que participen como voluntarios.

Justice Pyramid Literature Event

Justice HS students are currently organizing a project to promote literacy, and  would like to formally invite the community of students, staff, faculty, and families to our English Activities Fair on Thursday, April 16 at Justice High School in the Little Theater from 5PM-7PM. Students will have the opportunity to interact with literary clubs at Justice HS, learn about Justice’s own publications, engage with local authors, and participate in fun immersive literary related activities. We ask that all students are always accompanied by an adult as this is a family event.
