 Our hallways were glowing green this week as we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in true elementary style! From the engineering genius behind elaborate leprechaun traps to the creative flair of our annual kindergarten Potato Parade, our students brought so much luck and laughter to the school.
SOL Testing is on the Horizon
The Virginia Standards of Learning assessments are content tests that measure a student's proficiency and growth in Reading, Mathematics, and Science (5th grade only). These tests will be administered on the dates listed below. Please mark your calendar - it is important that your child attend school on the dates designated for them to test.

Help Oakton Elementary Win a $1,000 Grant!
Get those pencils (and crayons!) ready! Oakton Elementary is officially participating in the i9 Sports “I LOVE My School” Writing Contest. We’re competing for a $1,000 school grant, and we need your help to win!
How to Participate:
Students write about why they love Oakton Elementary. (Kindergartners can join the fun by drawing a picture!)
Look for an entry sheet coming home in next week's Tuesday Folder.
Parents: Simply complete the info at the bottom of the sheet once your child is done.
Deadline: Return the completed sheet to your teacher by Wednesday, March 25.

Pizza Party: Every class with 100% participation will be entered to win a pizza party!

OES PTA Silent Auction – Donations Needed!
The OES PTA Silent Auction is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and it directly supports programs and enrichment for our students, teachers, and school. We’re officially in donation mode, and we’d love your help making this year’s auction amazing!
Do you have something fun, unique, or creative to share? Donations of all kinds are welcome, including:
- Homemade treats like sourdough, cookies, or specialty desserts 🍪

Register Now for Spring After-School Enrichment at OES
Oakton Elementary is excited to offer several spring enrichment programs sponsored by the Oakton PTA and Baroody Camps, Inc. These on-site programs run from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and provide students with opportunities to build new skills and explore their interests. Registration is open from March 5 at 9:00 a.m. until March 29 at 11:59 p.m.

Tuesdays (Apr. 7 – June 2): LEGO® Spike Robotics: Great Adventures for grades K-6 ($245).

Wednesdays (Apr. 8 – June 3): Soccer by Love The Ball for grades K-6 ($229).

Thursdays (Apr. 9 – June 4): Chess by Silver Knights Chess Academy for grades K-4 ($269).

Fridays (Apr. 17 – June 5): Multi Sport by Love The Ball for grades K-6 ($229).
Registration and Financial Aid:

Financial aid registration is available for those who qualify and closes earlier on March 23 at 11:59 p.m.

Limited financial aid is available for one class per session for students receiving public assistance or experiencing temporary hardship.
