Performances will be Tuesday-Thursday, March 24-26 at 7 p.m. in the Sangster Cafeteria.

All shows are sold out, but there is a waiting list. You will be notified by noon the day of the performance if there is space available.


❗Lost & Found: Pick Up Before Spring Break!

Lost & Found: Pick up your student's missing items by Friday March 27!

Pick up any missing items outside door 1 next week (7 a.m.-7 p.m). All items not claimed by Friday, March 27, will be donated.


📘Spring Book Fair April 14-17

Spring Book Fair April 14-17!

Sangster's Spring Book Fair will be held in the library from Tuesday, April 14-Friday, April 17. On Family Cultural Night, Wednesday, April 15, the Book Fair will have evening hours from 6 pm-7:30 pm.

Volunteers are needed to help the Book Fair run smoothly. Please sign up here!

eWallet for Book Fair

The Book Fair will be using eWallet for ALL payments. Cash or checks cannot be accepted. 

Preload your student's eWallet account with a limit, and your credit card will only be charged the amount they use.

Your eWallet account MUST be updated before each book fair.

2026 SOL Testing Schedule

SOL Testing Schedule for 3rd-6th grades

Testing dates for 3rd-6th grades run April 28 through the end of May. We ask that students arrive in school on time the day of their testing, with a good night's rest, a good breakfast and a full water bottle. Thank you for your support in your student's success!

🌎Sangster's Family Cultural Night

Sangster's Annual Family Cultural Night April 15

Join us for our 3rd annual Family Cultural Night on

Wednesday, April 15, from 6 – 7:30 pm!

We will be celebrating the unique heritages, rich cultures, and traditions of our Sangster families. Everyone is welcome to attend as a guest, and there are also two ways families can choose to share their culture during the evening:

Student Cultural Fashion Show
Students are invited to participate in a fashion show by wearing cultural attire. Each student will walk across the stage and share the culture they are representing.

Family Cultural Display Tables
Families are invited to host a table that highlights their culture. Displays may include items such as posters, clothing, artwork, artifacts, or flags. Families may also choose to provide bite-sized food samples (optional).

Families interested in participating in either of these opportunities can sign up here.

A Military Kid's Story

⭐Stars & Stripes: A Military Kid’s Story

We invite your military-connected student to share their story so we can proudly display and celebrate them in the cafeteria throughout the month of April.

If you are currently experiencing a deployment or anticipate an upcoming deployment or extended TDY, please let us know. We care very much about our military families at Sangster and are here to support you in any way we can. Feel free to reach out to our military liaison directly at dshuisman@fcps.edu.

Military Family Field Day

 

⚽Military Family Field Day: Saturday, April 18, 2026

FCPS invites all military-connected families with FCPS students to a special field day to honor our military-connected children.

Join us at Annandale High School on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from noon to 2 p.m.

Enjoy field day games and crafts at the football and track stadium. Food and beverages will be available for purchase to support various FCPS school clubs and organizations. This is a great opportunity to connect with other military families across the division!

🎓SAVE THE DATE: 2026 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony

This year's 6th grade promotion ceremony will be held at Lake Braddock Secondary School on Thursday, June 11, from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm.

Students will be limited to four guests each.

Programs for FCPS Families

April Sibshops and SibTeens

📍Gum Springs Community Center, Alexandria, VA

The Sibshops workshops are for children in grades 2-6 enrolled in Fairfax County Public Schools who have siblings with support needs to meet other siblings in a relaxed setting. Celebrate the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of children with special needs, share sibling experiences, and receive peer support. Play games and have fun.

SibTeens is a community-building group for Middle School siblings of children with support needs in grades 6-9 enrolled in Fairfax County Public Schools. We have fun activities, both recreational and art-based, as well as discussion activities. It’s a unique opportunity for students to share about their lives and support each other while normalizing their life experiences.

Department of Family Services offers free classes for fathers in both English and Spanish. These groups are designing to support fathers by providing parenting resources, peer support, and a space to connect with other dads in the community.

Elementary Institute for the Arts (E-IFTA): A dynamic summer enrichment program serving students currently in grades K–5. Students currently in grade 6 are eligible for our secondary program, Institute for the Arts (IFTA).

Staff leave the Kiss-n-Ride area around 9:09 am. If your child is brought to school at 9:10 am or after, they must be signed in at the main office by an adult.
