- Schools will be closed from Monday, March 30, to Friday, April 3, for spring break. Monday, April 6, is a teacher workday, and there will be no school for students. See the school year calendar.

Around the World Heritage Night, March 26
Heritage Night will be held on March 26, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. More than just an event, this is a celebration of the cultures and stories that define our community. Come sample food, participate in games and activities, and learn traditions from all of our families. Join us for the fun!
Kindergarten Orientation
Oak View ES will be hosting Kindergarten Orientation on Friday, April 10, from 9 - 10 a.m. Kindergarten teachers will host students and parents/guardians at the meeting and share information about what to expect and what students will learn. We can't wait to welcome our newest Eagles! Please use this Orientation RSVP form to RSVP for orientation.
Special Education Family Conference
Join us for the 2026 Special Education Family Conference, Stronger Together: Connecting Families and Schools. It will be held on April 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Marshall High School.
Hear from internationally renowned educator and advocate Dr. Shelley Moore, connect with helpful resources, meet other families, and take part in engaging sessions. Childcare, accommodations, and language interpretation are available.

Family Engagement Survey Through March 23
The FCPS Family Engagement Survey is open! Your feedback is critical in helping us to better recognize, understand, respect, and address family strengths and needs in our schools.
Survey topics include:
- Welcoming environment.
- Communication.
- Student success.
- Advocacy.
- Family and school partnerships.
- Community partnerships.
The survey will be available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
Parents/caregivers received a survey link via email from FCPS on Monday, March 9. The survey is also available on the FCPS website. Paper surveys will be available at each school. The survey will close Monday, March 23.
Spring After School Clubs Registration is Open! 🌷
Registration for the Spring Session of After School Clubs is now open! Browse the full lineup of offerings and sign up for your favorites while spots are still available. With options for every age and interest (including some fun new clubs this session), there’s something for everyone. Don’t wait—many clubs fill up quickly!
Fun Run Registration Is Open! 🏃♂️
Our Fun Run is back on May 2, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! This year’s event will feature new obstacles, a DJ, food trucks, and fun for the whole family. Parents and siblings are encouraged to register and run as well!

Whether you’re planning to join us for the Parent Social (highly encouraged!) or just looking for a fun night for your kids, we’ve got you covered!
On Saturday, April 25, InCourage Martial Arts (Braddock Rd, near University Mall) is hosting a Dodgeball GLOW Night for kids in K–6.
For just $25 per child, kids will enjoy pizza, high-energy games, and even get to break a board at the end of the night! 🥋🍕✨ Even better — all proceeds are generously donated back to the PTA.
We hope this makes it easier for you to attend the Parent Social, but feel free to sign your child up even if you’re not attending. It’s a win-win for everyone! 💛
