Principal's Message

Hello Spartans!

We have had a week full of shout-outs and celebrations! To our Fanquest athletes and supporters, Chess Club, National History Day participants, Performing Arts groups, Get2Green leaders, and more—we are so proud of your successes and your commitment to setting the standard for excellence.

Earlier this week, you should have received an email from FCPS with a link to the Family Engagement Survey. Please take a few moments to complete it. We receive the results, including individual comments, and we give them great consideration as we plan out the school year. The survey is also available on the FCPS website and will close on Monday, March 23.

Next week is a short week, with school being closed on Friday for Eid al-Fitr. Because of the holiday, we will send the weekly newsletter out on Thursday afternoon.

Thank you for your continued partnership.

Dream Big, Work Hard, Be Proud

Spartan Spotlight

Dr. Reid and Principal Matheny with the Ballin' with Buddies Team

Dr. Reid stopped by West Springfield HS to attend Ballin’ with Buddies event

"The gym was crowded, and the energy was electric as student leaders, staff, and community members cheered on a great friendly competition on the basketball court.  Learning happens best in community and our community once again showed up to cheer on the student athletes.  A special thanks to the Unified Team coaches and fans from West Springfield HS, South County HS, Rolling Valley ES, and Irving MS.  As we strengthen our culture of inclusion, we celebrate the hard work and efforts of all of our student athletes and those that support them, it matters".
