As a parent of 4, I am going to be THAT person and remind you that the days seems long, but the years are short. With spring break around the corner, make sure to plan some family time!
The 10-day weather forecast is calling for beautiful days, which makes it easier to get outside. It doesn't have to be an all day adventure either! Take an hour and go to the McLean High School track with the kiddos, visit the public library, or go to one of the myriad public parks in our area. There is time for work, spring cleaning, playdates, AND family time!
However, you spend it, enjoy the break with your student!

Now that it is officially spring, you may have done some cleaning! If you have children's books in good condition that no longer fit on the shelves, consider donating them!
A local Girl Scout troop is collecting donated books to sell sold at the Haycock Auction Kids' Preview Party on April 18th with all proceeds going back to the school!
If interested, there will be a collection box in Haycock's main hall outside the office until April 14.

CONSIDER ADOPTING A TURTLE
Haycock's beloved school turtle, Speedy, has surprised us all, and now we have several tiny turtles looking for loving homes.
They are small, adorable, and already practicing their very slow-and-steady lifestyle.
Seeking caring families ready to take on the responsibility of a turtle (they may be small, but they need proper care, an indoor or outdoor habitat, and lots of attention).
Reach out to our Get2Green Coordinators Mr. Baker or Ms. Sklar (jabaker@fcps.edu and jsklar@fcps.edu) for more about this opportunity.
