Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child, and this year’s theme is “Rooted in Resilience.” Our purple spirit shirt is now available for purchase! Military children show incredible strength and adaptability, and we invite our entire school community—both military and non-military families—to show their support. Students and staff are encouraged to wear purple on Thursdays in April, and this year’s purple shirt is a great way to stand together and celebrate the resilience of our military kids. The deadline to order is Monday, March 23.

Nativity Lutheran Church - Rise Against Hunger Event

There are volunteer opportunities to setup from 8:30 to 10:00 am, a volunteer shift from 10:00AM-12:00PM, and cleanup from 12:00PM to 12:30PM. We are happy to give volunteer hours to students, but we ask that elementary age children come with adult volunteers, since the event requires careful coordination to pack around 10,000 meals in the course of the morning.

We are looking for volunteers and anyone who would like to contribute donations to help pay for the food.

These donations go towards the planning of community events such as Movie Night and Winter Wonderland,  showing appreciation to our SLES teachers and staff,  and assisting with educational enrichment opportunities such as  the upcoming Spelling Bee, Clubs and the Discovery Garden.
