TLES students connect through our Peer Buddy Program, building friendships and showing kindness while helping create a more inclusive school community. 💙🐯
Dear TLES Community,
At TLES, we are always looking for meaningful ways to strengthen our school community and ensure every student feels seen, valued, and connected. One example of this work is our Peer Buddy Program, which provides students opportunities to build friendships, practice kindness, and support one another through games, conversation, and shared activities.
The Peer Buddy Program is one of several ways we are working to expand opportunities for inclusion at TLES. Just as importantly, it reflects our continued commitment to fostering a learning environment where kindness, empathy, and respect are at the heart of everything we do.
What makes this program especially meaningful is the full-circle story behind it. Two of our very own teachers, Libby Wray and Julia Stievater, participated in the Peer Buddy Program when they were students in Fairfax County Public Schools. Today, they are helping bring that same spirit of friendship and belonging to our TLES students by supporting and helping lead this program.
Moments like this remind us what makes TLES so special—students building relationships, learning from one another, and creating a community where everyone feels they belong.
Thank you for continuing to support the values that make TLES such a caring and connected place for our students to learn and grow.
With appreciation,
Ben Chiet, Sarah Buchanan & Lindsay Duch
