Chantilly Academy's Cyber/IT students had a very busy week immersing themselves in the world of cybersecurity. Over the weekend, students competed in the Virginia High School Cyber Cup, a high-stakes Capture the Flag (CTF) competition that challenges students to solve complex digital puzzles, crack codes, and secure vulnerable systems in a race against the clock. We are incredibly proud to share that our Advanced Team took home 1st Place, and our Beginner Team secured a 2nd Place finish! These results are a reflection of the incredible technical abilities and critical thinking skills that our Cyber/IT students practice in the classroom each day.
On Tuesday, students visited George Mason University for Cyber Slam, a cybersecurity conference for high school students. The conference offered immersive, hands-on activities designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the professional world. Students rotated through several sessions and learned about digital forensics, network defense, ethical hacking, and even got to build a drone! It was a productive and exciting week of competition and learning for our future Cyber/IT professionals.
