Dear Wakefield Forest Families,
The shifting weather this week has certainly sparked some interesting conversations around our hallways! As we lean into the first signs of spring, we will have many exciting events coming up.
Celebrating Our Teachers
Our staff works tirelessly to create a supportive and challenging environment for our students. If you have a few moments this month, I would love for families and students to write a short note to our teachers. A quick word of thanks goes a long way in reminding them just how much we appreciate their dedication and heart.
Spotlight on Learning
It has been a busy and productive week at Wakefield Forest:
-
The Power of Our Words: Over the past few weeks, I had the pleasure of teaching a special lesson to our 4th graders focused on the impact of our words. We discussed how our words carry weight and worked to help students understand the lasting effect that unkind comments can have on others.
-
4th Grade History Day: A huge congratulations to our 4th graders! They put on an awesome performance for their families, bringing history to life with such energy and creativity.
-
Professional Development: Our staff has been collaborating deeply in the areas of reading and math—designing innovative lessons, observing peer instruction, and reflecting together to ensure we are delivering the best possible education for every grade level.
Save the Date: STEAM Fair!
We have some exciting family events on the horizon, most notably our upcoming STEAM Fair on March 26th—it’s going to be a fantastic showcase of science, technology, engineering, art, and math!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our school community.
Warmly,
Sharyn Prindle
Principal

Get on your lab coats and have your goggles at the ready for this year’s annual STEAM Night! This year promises to be bigger and better with robotics demonstration, a 3D printing station, and a blow up planetarium! Bring your families and join us Thursday March 26th at 6pm in the gym and cafeteria.

Several Wakefield Forest band students had the opportunity to participate in the Frost Honor Band, a special event that brings together dedicated band students from the Woodson pyramid elementary schools, to perform challenging music and develop their musical skills.
These students spent time rehearsing for 8 weeks and concluded with a concert on March 9th with the Frost MS Symphonic Band and the Woodson HS Wind Ensemble.
Participating in the Frost Honor Band was a valuable experience that allowed students to grow as musicians while representing their school with pride. Please congratulate the following students for representing Wakefield Forest ES in the Frost Honor Band:
Austin, Alex, Mia, Declan, Anna, Sophia, Tucker, Toby, Charlotte, William, Kelly, Charles and Katie.
Our Kindergarten orientation is being held on Friday, April 10th, from 1:30 - 3:30 PM. This is an opportunity where families can learn more about Kindergarten at Wakefield Forest. Families should bring their child as we will conduct some quick assessments during the visit. An email will be sent to families who have indicated they have a kindergartener in the fall. We can't wait to welcome your child to the wolfpack!
