Spring Allergies have started!  The Health Room is tracking a lot of allergy symptoms itchy water eyes, congestion, itchy throat, stuffy noses, cough and sneezing.

The following are some things you can do to help your child during the allergy season:

  • Administer allergy medicine as needed (Talk to your physician if they recommend allergy medicine before school during high pollen times)
  • When your child comes in from outdoors: -Wash hands with soap and water -Wash off face (including glasses) with water and cloth -Wipe down body from head to toe with wet wash cloth -Change clothing if staying indoor
  • Try not to allow your child to go into the bedroom with the clothing worn outside; this will prevent the pollen from falling onto the bed.

Students will play outside for recess and most days for PE.

Please call the health room if you have any questions: 703-460-4410 or

email Renee Basile, PHN rbasile@fcps.edu
