An Author is Visiting KJMS

On Monday, March 16, author Jennifer Nielsen is giving a presentation on her new release Magnitude, a historical fiction about the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Magnitude is perfect for fans of the I Survived books by Lauren Tarshis and is written on a 5th grade reading level. Students can sign up to attend the presentation with the Google form on the Library Schoology course and they will miss the end of their 1st period and their LS. Students can order autographed copies of Magnitude (hardback $20) as well as A Night Divided (paperback $10) from the Library Schoology course. Books will be delivered to the students during school.


Free KJMS Thinkabit Summer Camp

Have you ever thought about how new technologies are invented? Do you want to build robotic crafts?

  • This FREE camp will run from June 22-25, 2026 – 9AM-1PM at Katherine Johnson Middle School
  • Rising 7th and 8th graders are invited to apply
  • All supplies are provided, they just need to bring a lunch
  • Students must have their own transportation to and from camp

Please be advised that we will not be holding Spring Pictures this year.

Reviewing participation rates from previous years, we have decided to cancel the event due to low interest. We appreciate your understanding of this matter.

Wendy's is donating 20% of orders to Katherine Johnson Middle School PTA! Take a night off from cooking and join us in eating for a great cause. Wendy's accepts Dine-In, Takeout & Drive thru orders made in store mentioning Katherine Johnson Middle School PTA. We'll be at the Wendy's on 4000 Jermantown Rd.  Orders can be made from noon-11 pm on March 10th.

Sleep Awareness Week

The National Sleep Foundation’s Sleep Awareness Week is March 8 to 14. The observance highlights the critical link between sleep and health, both physical and mental. Read more about sleep health and sleep strategies you can try at home.


Tysons Library Friends Book Sale

A colorful event flyer for the Tysons Library Friends Book Sale held from March 5 to 8, from 10 am to 5 pm each day. The sale is located at 7584 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA. An illustration of six colorful, patterned books sits in the center.
