Kings Park Families,
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated to the KPES February Food Drive. We collected 850 pounds of food and ECHO raved about the wonderful variety of goods received. We are so thankful for your generosity!
We hope to see many of you at tomorrow evening’s Books and Bingo event, sponsored by the Kings Park/Kings Glen PTA. The fun will take place in the Kings Park Cafeteria from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm and promises to be a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, celebrate reading, and enjoy time with our school community.
Every student in attendance will receive a free book to take home, and all participants will have the chance to win exciting, reading-themed door prizes throughout the evening. Please note that entrance will be limited should capacity be reached. We look forward to an evening filled with books, laughter, and community connection!

Pre-K and Early Head Start Programs
FCPS Pre-K and Early Head Start programs provide a high-quality early learning experience for qualifying children with economic and educational risk factors, ages 6 weeks to 4 years, living in Fairfax County.
- Pre-K prioritizes 4-year-old applicants but also accepts applications for children who will be 3 years old by September 30 of the same year.
- Early Head Start is located at three elementary schools — Clearview, Crestwood, and Dogwood — and accepts applications from pregnancy to 2 years old.
Families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Space is limited and provided based on need, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications are accepted online, by email, by mail, or in person at the program office at 7423 Camp Alger Avenue, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.
If you have a question about the application process or status, please call 703-208-7900 (English) or 703-208-7901 (Spanish).

Community Conversations: Share Your Thoughts With Dr. Reid
As a listening leader, connecting with community members across our school division is critical to FCPS Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid. Her Community Conversations are opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ask questions. An event will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on Monday, March 23, at Ravensworth Elementary School.
Child care and interpretation services will be provided. Events are open to all. Visit the superintendent’s engagement page for the most up-to-date information.
National School Social Work Week
March 2-8 is National School Social Work Week. Social workers in FCPS help to prevent social, emotional, and behavioral factors from affecting a student's ability to perform at their best. Their primary goal is to remove barriers that prevent a student from fulfilling their academic potential. Social workers are assigned to every school and center in the school system. Most social workers serve one to two sites. Learn more about the role of social workers in FCPS.
Daylight Saving Begins (Spring Forward)
Sunday, March 8, at 2 a.m., daylight saving time begins. Don’t forget to move your clocks ahead one hour! As a result of the time change, many students will be walking to school or to bus stops in the dark. Help your child stay safe by having them wear reflective clothing and bright or light colors, or add reflective items to their backpacks or clothes. Also, encourage your child to be especially alert for cars that are turning or backing up and not to run into the street or cross between parked cars.
