Cheers for Making it to March!

It seemed like we might never escape the icy hold of February, but here we are!  Before we move on to new business, thank you to our volunteers at Bingo Night on Friday and it was great seeing so many excited players.  Always a good time with our Westlawn family!

So, we move on to March and have two big events to look forward to.  First up a well-earned treat for our teachers on 3/9.  Please go to this sign-up and consider donating bread or toppings or loaning us your toaster for the morning.  This is a really simple way to put a smile on all of our teachers' faces.  Consider gluten free/dairy free options as well as you get creative!

Next, we are collaborating with parents and teachers to host a super fun Literacy event for families:

Light Up the Night with Literacy

Date: Wednesday, March 11, 2026 Time: 4:30pm to 6:00pm

Location: Westlawn Elementary School

The lights are going down, but the learning is heating up! Join us for an "electrifying" evening where reading meets radiance. Our rooms will be transformed into a neon wonderland filled with:

  • 📖 Flashlight Reading Forts: Read your favorite book even in the dark!

  • 🔍 Glow-in-the-Dark Scavenger Hunts: Find the hidden words before they disappear!

  • ✍️ Giant Scrabble: Making glowing words with your friends

Dress Code: Wear white or neon colors to make sure you glow under the blacklights! We’ll provide the finger lights; you bring the imagination. VOLUNTEERS are needed. Please help us before the event for setting up, during the event and after for cleaning up. We need you to make this a success! SIGN UP HERE!

Don’t miss out—it’s going to be LIT(eracy)!

Looking forward to a great month!  Be sure to sign up for one or both of the upcoming events.
