February at Educate Fairfax
Dear Educate Fairfax Supporter:
This month, we have been celebrating the lifelong friendships that began in FCPS classrooms. Alumni from across the country have shared their friendship stories with us, and we have loved reading each one. Whether they met in kindergarten or during their senior year, these connections remind us of the lasting impact of our schools. Be sure to visit our blog to read more.
We are also gearing up for Give Education Day on March 4, hosted by Alumni Nations. Scroll down for more details about this day-long fundraising event and how your support helps us expand innovation and opportunity across FCPS.
And we are excited to put a fun, new event on your radar. In April, we are partnering with DTL Annandale to host the first-ever Dink & Donate for Education pickleball tournament, benefiting Educate Fairfax.
We hope you will join us.
We encourage you to follow us on social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter), where we share the stories of our grant recipients, along with other inspiring news about what's happening to improve educational outcomes across our school division.
Warm wishes,
Dr. Lynette Henry Executive Director Educate Fairfax
Rooted in Fairfax: Friendships That Grew Up Together
What do you remember about your elementary, middle or high school experience? Do you think of teachers, classes or friends?
For so many FCPS alumni, the friendships that began in elementary classrooms, on playing fields, and in after-school clubs didn’t just shape their school years, they shaped their lives.
From kindergarten classmates who are now graduating college side by side… to teammates turned lifelong best friends… to Girl Scout troops and friend groups that have stayed strong for 30 and even 40 years… these stories remind us that FCPS is more than a place to learn. It’s where connections are made that last a lifetime.
Across generations and schools, one theme remains the same: FCPS brought them together and kept them connected through every chapter.

Give Education Day is Coming!
Give Education Day is March 4, and we are rallying our community to invest in Educate Fairfax Classroom Grants to help us raise $6,000.
For more than five years, Educate Fairfax has funded innovative, equitable learning experiences across Fairfax County Public Schools. Because of the generosity of donors like you, during our 2025–26 grant cycle we awarded 129 classroom and school-based grants totaling more than $210,000 to 117 FCPS schools.
That means nearly 47,000 students are benefiting from hands-on learning, new resources, and opportunities that would not have been possible without community support.
It was a record-breaking year. And we are so grateful.
But we are not done.
Our goal is bold: to fund a grant in all 199 FCPS schools and centers.
To get there, we must raise more. Every dollar directly supports educators who are creating meaningful experiences for students right now.
Early giving is open.
Make your gift today and help us expand innovation, equity, and opportunity across Fairfax County Public Schools!
