Ramadan (Feb. 18-March 19)

For Students Who are Fasting

For the month of Ramadan, Sangster will provide a comfortable and quiet space for students who are fasting during lunch as an alternative to the cafeteria.

Please use this form to request that your student spend their lunch time in a designated quiet area. This space will allow them to rest, read, or engage in quiet activities in an area that is supervised.

We are planning to offer this space from February 18 - March 19, 2026. If different dates are needed, please add information about your student's needs to the notes section of the form.

Fasting? Take a Meal Kit Home!

FCPS is offering take-home meal kits for students fasting for Ramadan between Feb. 18 - March 19.

Parents must fill out a form for each student every week, and students will pick up the kits at the end of each school day.

Meal kits are charged just like school meals and include the same healthy, fresh food from the school menu.

For more information and to fill out the forms, visit fcps.edu/food.

6th Grade Transition to Middle School

Rising 7th Graders: Information on Middle School Transition

Lake Braddock Middle School

All student course selections will be visible in SIS (Student Information System), through ParentVue or StudentVue this month.

If you need to set up a ParentVue account or need a refresher on how to login, click here.

Students have been instructed on how to access their StudentVue account to check their course selections. For more information about your child’s SIS StudentVue account, click here.

Washington Irving Middle School

Student course selection sheets are being entered into Student Information System (SIS).

If your child is in the Level Four AAP program and is planning on going to Irving, you must complete this Google form from the FCPS AAP Office so Irving is indicated in SIS.

AAP Level Four students going to Irving cannot enter their course selections into SIS until this step is taken.

Math

If your child intends on taking Algebra I Honors next year, you might notice a different Math course indicated in SIS. This is intentional. Both Lake Braddock and Irving ask that all students planning on taking Algebra I Honors enter Pre-Algebra Honors on their course selection sheets. Students cannot be placed in Algebra I H until after grades and test scores are reviewed at the end of the year.

Need to Know Timeline and Resources

Here is a complete list of all middle school transition events and linked resources for Lake Braddock and Irving. Please reach out with any questions.
