Dismissal Changes & Student Safety

To help ensure that every student is safely accounted for and arrives at the correct location at the end of the school day, we ask that all changes to dismissal routines be communicated to the main office at least one hour before dismissal.

On a typical school day, this means families should contact the office no later than 2:30 PM to notify us of any changes in transportation or pickup plans.

Late changes can be difficult to communicate to classrooms in time and may create confusion during dismissal. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, smooth, and efficient end to each school day.

100 Days Smarter, Stronger, Together

100 day pic

Last week was filled with joy, connection, and memorable learning experiences at Pine Spring! Between celebrating Valentine’s Day, marking the 100th Day of School, and welcoming families for Literacy Night, our school community had so many opportunities to come together in meaningful ways.

Classrooms were filled with excitement as students shared kindness and friendship on Valentine’s Day, reflected on being 100 days smarter through creative and engaging activities, and proudly showcased their love of reading during Literacy Night. Seeing families learning alongside their children reminded us that strong partnerships between home and school make learning even more powerful.

It was truly a week that blended learning, family, and fun, highlighting the spirit, connection, and Bobcat pride that make Pine Spring such a special place. Thank you to our staff, families, and students for making these moments so memorable!

Warm Up FCPS – Divisionwide Spirit Day

chat admin

Tired of the cold weather? Let’s bring the sunshine to Pine Spring! In support of Superintendent Dr. Reid’s divisionwide spirit day, we invite students and staff to brighten the halls by wearing their brightest colors and tropical attire on Thursday, February 19.

From vibrant florals to sunny accessories, let’s shake off the winter blues and fill our school with warmth, positivity, and Bobcat pride. We can’t wait to see Pine Spring shine!

🏫 Every Day Counts

As we begin the third quarter, we want to take a moment to highlight the importance of coming to school every day. We understand that illness happens, and students should absolutely stay home when they are sick. At the same time, missing 10 or more days of school, whether excused or unexcused, means a student is considered chronically absent at this point in the year, and those missed days add up quickly.

Regular attendance helps students build strong academic skills and important life skills like responsibility, perseverance, and routine. Being present also means students don’t miss out on the many exciting learning experiences, celebrations, and special events happening at Pine Spring each day.

We appreciate your partnership and support in helping our students be present, engaged, and ready to learn. Every day at school truly matters! 💚🐾

Learn About Kindergarten at Pine Spring

Our Kindergarten Open House is being held on April 10 at 9 AM to give parents of students entering school in August an opportunity to learn more about kindergarten at our school.

We recognize that parents are their children’s first teachers. Resources on the School Readiness and Transition to Kindergarten webpage provide parents with ways to support their children to help ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten.

There’s also an easy-to-follow five-step process outlined for registering your child for kindergarten. Register your child today!

Contact our registrar at (571) 226-4400 with any questions.

Toiletry Drive

Toiletry Drive

We are excited to partner with our community to support the Falls Church High School pantry through our upcoming Toiletry Drive. From March 2–27, we invite families to donate essential hygiene items to help students and families in need.

Requested items include individually packaged toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap, toilet paper, and laundry pods. Donations may be dropped off in Room 401.

Your generosity helps ensure that all students have access to basic necessities and reminds our neighbors that they are supported by a caring community. Thank you for helping Pine Spring make a meaningful difference!
