Message from the President
Hello Families, Teachers, and Staff,
Welcome to the last week of February. Hopefully this last bit of snow will be it for our winter weather. Our next meeting is tonight at 7pm in the library!!
On February 12, students from the Data Science course and the Girls Who Code Club went on a field trip to the Wilton Woods Center, which is a local data center facility. Students had the opportunity to see firsthand how data is stored, processed, and managed at scale, and to learn about the wide range of career pathways available in data science, information, technology, and engineering right here in Virginia. The PTSA was happy for the opportunity to contribute to this trip.

On February 26, PTSA will be hosting a celebratory snack for over 800 A/B Honor Roll Students. Please see info below on how you can help! Also, do not forget to sign your student up for the Mock SAT/ACT coming up in March, info on that below as well.
On March 10th at 6:30pm in the auditorium the PTSA will join Student Services in sponsoring a Sophomore Student-Parent Preparing for College Night. For this event Ms. Kim from the Career Center will bring in a speaker from the University of Carolina at Greensboro.
Contributing to class/club field trips, honoring A/B Honor Roll Students, and sponsoring events are just a few of the ways the PTSA supports the FHS community. We will also be issuing a Student Volunteerism Award later this year to a lucky senior and continue to show our wonderful Teachers and Staff our appreciation. However, we can not do this without your support. Right now our funds are low and we will be scaling back on what we have planned, in addition to looking for more ways to raise money. If you haven’t already, please join the PTSA and/or donate. Please spread the word!!!
Want an easy way to support the FHS PTSA? You can link a card in Givebacks and earn cash for our cause when you shop and dine at participating locations. More information here Givebacks - Causes.
Please JOIN the PTSA NOW!! We love supporting the FHS community and cannot do it without you!!
Parent/Adult: $20, Teacher/Staff: $12, FHS Student: $8.

Next meeting is tonight at 8pm in the library!
A couple of parents and I toured the St. James facility a few weeks ago. Please come tonight to hear about the St. James and to help us decide how to make this party awesome for our seniors!
Don’t forget to order your senior magnets and yard signs for your seniors. Not only are these great ways to celebrate your student but it’s a fundraiser for All Night Grad.
