Dear South Lakes Students, Families, and Community,

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Phil Cronin, Assistant Principal, to South Lakes High School.

Dr. Cronin joins us with a wealth of experience having spent over thirty years working in FCPS schools. He taught Social Studies at George C. Marshall High School and Chantilly High School. He joins us from Herndon High School where he served as Assistant Principal for over 8 years. 

He earned his teaching degree and an MEd. from George Mason University. His Education Leadership degree and his Ed.D ( Character Education) was awarded from Virginia Tech.

In addition to his instructional leadership, Dr. Cronin has coached football, softball, and soccer. In 2018, Dr. Cronin was inducted into the Virginia Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. He has an amazing wife and three adult children, two of whom are teachers! This summer, he also became a first-time grandpa!

Dr. Cronin will be supporting students whose last names begin with RIV - Z and their families.
