The Clearview Community Connect

Stronger Together

Dear Clearview Families,

It was wonderful to welcome our students back into the building for a full day of learning. The energy in the classrooms and hallways was a great reminder of how much we value having everyone together. Our staff enjoyed reconnecting with students and settling back into regular routines. As we head into a four day weekend, we hope your family has time to relax and enjoy it together. Please remember that next week includes the following schedule: Feb 16 No School for Presidents Day, Feb 17 No School for Teacher Work Day, and Feb 18 is a 3-hour Early Dismissal. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to another strong week ahead.

See you on Wednesday!

Fasting Meal Kits

From February 18 to March 19, 2026, a Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) waiver allows students fasting during the school day to request take-home meal kits. These kits include a complete school breakfast and lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.

Important Meal Kit Information:

  • Kits are charged based on a student’s meal status (Free, Reduced, or Paid).
  • Students may claim one breakfast and one lunch kit per day.
  • Students who eat a meal at school during the day are not eligible for a take-home kit on the same day.
  • Kits are distributed at the end of the school day. Students must pick up their own kits; adults are not permitted to collect them.

Parents or guardians must submit a weekly request form via the FCPS FNS website by the deadlines:

  • February 11, 2026 for week of February 18, 2026
  • February 16, 2026 for the week of February 23, 2026

Forms must be submitted on time to receive meal kits for the following week.

🙋‍♂️ Attendance Is Important!

Regular, on-time attendance is a key ingredient to your child’s success.  Keeping in mind that students are to stay home if they have a fever (of 100.4 or above), vomiting, or diarrhea, attending school must be a top priority.

Children who show up for school regularly develop fundamental reading and math skills while building a habit of good attendance that will carry them into college and careers.

Visit the FCPS website for more attendance resources.

✅Resource to Explore: SOLpass ✅

We encourage families to explore SolPass, a helpful tool to use at home as a supplement to the learning that happens at Clearview. SOLPass helps students review exactly what they need for the Standards of Learning (SOL) exams that almost every child in grades 3-6 will take this spring. Encourage use of SOLPass to help make sure your child feels prepared and confident for exam day. Stinger is the password, of course!

🐎 새해 복 많이 받으세요! 新年快乐! Chúc mừng Năm Mới! Wishing good fortune to those in our community who celebrate Lunar New Year! Ramadan begins at

Sundown on February 17

Ramadan Mubarak to those in our community who observe! In Islam, Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year. During this month Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset each day while striving to increase their spirituality, through prayers, charity, and good deeds. Muslims believe it was during this month that God revealed the first verses of the Holy Quran to Prophet Muhammad. #OurFCPS

Ash Wednesday is on February 18

Ash Wednesday is observed as a holy day of prayer and fasting in many Western Christian denominations. It marks the beginning of Lent, a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving leading up to Easter. Many Christians attend special Ash Wednesday church services, at which churchgoers receive ashes on their foreheads as a sign of penance. #OurFCPS

Ash Wednesday/First Full Day of Ramadan

Wednesday, February 18, is Ash Wednesday and the first full day of Ramadan. FCPS has designated this day as a religious and cultural observance day. There is school on these days, however specific events that cannot be made up will not be held on these observance days. See the complete school year calendar.Throughout the year, as we celebrate and recognize various cultural holidays and observances, families are encouraged to contact Assistant Principal, Joshua Redford, regarding accommodations, including but not limited to those around lunch, prayer/meditation and silent reflection spaces and times, and instruction.
