Students Unite For Climate Action
Students from Flint Hill Elementary and Colombia’s Institución Educativa Luis Calixto Leiva are joining forces for a special project called “Voices for the Earth: Collective Action Against Global Warming.” Through this Global Classroom partnership, students from Virginia and South America are working together in both English and Spanish to study how climate change affects our world. By using music, art, and digital tools like Padlet and Google Slides, they are researching ways to protect the environment and sharing their findings with their local communities.
This project uses Project-Based Learning (PBL) to help students tackle the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal for Climate Action. As they collaborate across borders, these students are building more than just language skills; they are becoming global citizens who use critical thinking to solve real-world problems. By the end of the project, they will have created interactive tools to teach others how to live more sustainably, proving that even small actions can lead to a big impact on the health of our planet.
