Hats off to the helpers who make Dranesville a safe and special school community. Please join us in welcoming our newest Crossing Guards: Mr. Bhatti (mornings) and Mr. Sadat (afternoons).

Arrival & Dismissal Safety Protocols
Keeping our students safe during the busy morning and afternoon rushes is a shared responsibility. Please follow these protocols to ensure a smooth flow of traffic:
🚗 Driving & Parking

Speed & Vigilance: Maintain a slow, safe speed on Powells Tavern Place. Always stop for pedestrians and follow the directions of our crossing guards.

The Bus Loop: This area is strictly reserved for buses and emergency vehicles from 8:50 AM – 9:30 AM and 3:50 PM – 4:30 PM.

Virginia State Law: It is illegal to pass a school bus while it is loading or unloading children.

Be a Good Neighbor: * Do Not block residential driveways.
🚶 Student Drop-off & Pick-up

Use Kiss and Ride: If you are driving your child, please use the designated Kiss and Ride loop in the parking lot off Powells Tavern Place.

Stay in Your Car: To keep the line moving, stay in your vehicle and pull forward to the designated loading zone near the playgrond. Staff will assist your child through the curb-side passenger door.

Use Crosswalks: For the safety of your family, only cross Powells Tavern Place at the designated crosswalks with our crossing guard.

Follow Staff Directions: Our staff is on-site to ensure child safety. Please remain attentive to their signals and instructions.
