Midyear Student Attendance Summary- Coming Soon!
As you know, regular attendance is a priority at Madison High School and is crucial for the academic success of all students. Studies have repeatedly proven that students with better attendance records perform better in school and are more likely to graduate high school on time.
In the next few weeks we will be sending out a personalized Attendance Summary to each student and family. We recognize that there are a variety of reasons that students are absent and this summary will be for informational purposes only.
We appreciate your partnership in prioritizing regular school attendance. Please reach out to your student’s counselor or visit this FCPS resource on Encouraging School Attendance if you need additional support.
Help Keep Madison Phone-Free!
Please remind your student that cell phones and personal devices (AirPods, earbuds, headsets, other items connected to the internet) can no longer be used during passing periods. Phones and personal devices must be off and away for the entire school day (bell to bell) with the exception of lunch time in designated lunch spaces. Cell phones are also not permitted to be used as an instructional tool. FCPS’ cell phone policy helps students stay focused, safe, and engaged at school. Visit FCPS’ cell phone policy webpage for more information and answers to frequently asked questions, including consequences for cell phone policy violations and exceptions for students with medical conditions or IEP/504 plans. If you need to contact your student during the school day, please call our front office at 703-319-2300.

College Partnership Program
The College Partnership Program (CPP) is one of many opportunities for FCPS students to access support as they explore the idea of going to college. The goal of CPP is to systematically mitigate the impact of barriers to access and opportunity, and support students who are from populations that are historically underrepresented on college campuses. The CPP application is now open for current 8th -10th graders and 11th graders who enrolled in FCPS after January 1, 2025. Students will need to log into their G Suite school account (e.g., studentID@fcpsschools.net) to access and complete the application by February 20.
WIDA Testing
Due to the impacts from the snow days, the WIDA assessment for our ML students will begin on Monday, Feb. 9. Students received an email from Mrs. Frate with their updated test schedule. If students have any questions about their test schedule, they should email Mrs. Frate at jlfrate@fcps.edu.
