B-I-N-G-O! A Full House at RHES Bingo Night

Bingo Night

What a night at the Rose Hill! Our recent PTA Bingo Night was a massive success, bringing together more than 350 students, parents, and staff for an evening of community and friendly competition. It was wonderful to see the cafeteria buzzing with energy as families traded their screens for daubers to enjoy some good old-fashioned fun.

A huge shout-out goes to our incredible PTA for organizing such a seamless and high-energy event. From the very first number called to the final blackout round, the excitement was through the roof. We had a blast watching neighbors catch up and kids cheering for their lucky numbers.

The prizes were flowing all night long, but the real magic happened during the raffle. Two very lucky students hit the ultimate jackpot: the chance to be Principal and Assistant Principal for the day! We are all eagerly awaiting their first executive orders—hopefully, they involve extra recess or a pajama day. Thank you to everyone who came out to play and supported our school community. Events like these remind us why RHES is such a special place to be!

Help Keep Rose Hill Phone-Free!

Please remind your student that cell phones and personal devices (AirPods, earbuds, headsets, other items connected to the internet) must be off and away for the entire school day (bell to bell). Cell phones are also not permitted to be used as an instructional tool.

FCPS’ cell phone policy helps students stay focused, safe, and engaged at school. Visit FCPS’ cell phone policy webpage for more information and answers to frequently asked questions, including consequences for cell phone policy violations and exceptions for students with medical conditions or IEP/504 plans.

If you need to contact your student during the school day, please call our front office at 703-313-4200.

Student Reporters on the Scene!

Interview

If you walked through our halls this past Thursday or Friday, you might have felt like you were on a professional film set! Our 6th-grade students were hard at work, stepping into the roles of journalists and videographers for a class project.

Armed with wireless microphones, iPads, and carefully crafted interview questions, these small crews captured footage of their peers sharing their favorite things about Rose Hill. It was inspiring to see our student leaders practicing their communication skills and using technology to tell the story of our school community.

We can’t wait to see the final edited videos!

Meal Kits for Fasting Students

From February 18 to March 19, students who are fasting during the day can take school meals home. These kits include one breakfast and one lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.

Families must fill out a request form each week for every student who wants a kit. The first deadline is Wednesday, February 11, for the week of February 16. Please note other important details below:

  • Cost: Meals are charged just like a normal school day.
  • Pickup: Students must grab their kits at the end of the school day.
  • Menu: Kits include school meals that are easy to heat at home.

Visit the Food and Nutrition webpage for forms, deadlines, and other information. Please contact the Office of Food and Nutrition Services with any questions at FCPSFNS@fcps.edu or 703-813-4800.
