The Wildcat Weekly - February 8, 2026

Collage

Centreville Students, Families, and Community,

Last week brought so much to celebrate across the Wildcat Nation! We were proud to recognize our Boys Basketball Class of 2026 student-athletes, and it was exciting to see post-season competition take place for Gymnastics, Wrestling, and Swim & Dive. Congratulations to all of our student-athletes on tremendous seasons and for representing Centreville High School with outstanding character, effort, and sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of you.

We also kicked off WIDA testing for many of our multilingual learner students last week. The WIDA assessment measures student growth across four domains: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Our students and teachers have worked diligently all year to prepare for this opportunity, and we are excited to cheer on our students as they showcase their progress and continued growth.

Looking ahead to this week, we will hold our monthly PTSA meeting on Tuesday. Beginning at 6:00 PM, we will host an All-Night Grad Party (ANGP) Planning Meeting. We are thrilled to share that the All-Night Grad Party lock-in is returning to CVHS on Thursday, June 11, for the Class of 2026! This event promises to be an epic night filled with games, food, and prizes, but we need your help to make it happen. We welcome volunteers from families of all grade levels to support bringing back this beloved tradition. If you’re interested, please join us at 6:00 PM on Tuesday in the Centreville High School Library. Our standard PTSA meeting will follow at 7:00 PM.

Thank you and go Wildcats!

Dr. Erik Healey, Principal

Instructional Leadership Team Models Collaboration to Support Student Outcomes: Our Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) recently collaborated to further our instructional journey by examining how several key areas of our work align with our primary goal for student success. Central to our discussion is our Outcome for Student Learning, which focuses on ensuring students have the necessary skills to engage in cognitively challenging, collaborative learning experiences that require higher-level thinking. This unified approach allows us to map every aspect of our teaching toward a more inclusive and effective learning environment for all students.
