Check Lost & Found for your Student's Items!
Haycock's lost and found is literally overflowing with lost things. All that is not claimed by the end of the month will be donated so please take a look!
Items marked with a last name are much more easily returned to their owner!
If you would like me to check for something specific, I am more than happy to do that. Just email me a quick description kdunbar@fcps.edu .

People still get Measles???
While the Measles was declared eliminated in the U.S. in 2000, outbreaks still occur due to international travel bringing the virus into the country. You may be aware that recent notifications from the Virginia Department of Health confirmed cases of measles in communities across Northern Virginia.
At this time, the Fairfax County Health Department has confirmed that there is no indication of increased risk within FCPS schools or facilities, including Haycock. However, measles remains a highly contagious virus. Public health guidance recommends two doses of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine to fully protect individual health and prevent the spread of illness.
Families who have questions about the MMR vaccine are encouraged to contact their health care provider. Additional information is also available through the Fairfax County Health Department website.

DID YOU KNOW...
Virginia law requires that all children up to age 8 must be in a child restraint device, which includes a booster seat. However, It’s important to remember that seat belts are designed for 165-pound men. They simply aren’t designed to fit kids – and can cause injury or death in the event of a crash if they don’t fit properly. A seat belt will properly fit a child when they reach 4’9” or 57 inches tall, typically between the ages of 8-12, with a weight of 80-100 pounds. For more information regarding if your student is ready for a seatbelt, visit: AAA Car Seat FAQs.
