Principal's Message
We tried to bring on a bit of spring with our Tropical Day to no avail, as another storm is upon us. We are taking every advantage of learning even through the snow, holidays and early release. We are proud of the hard work our students are putting forth with this varied schedule. Our school office will be closed tomorrow along with our FCPS closure. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!
Our new check in system went active last week with great success. We found it very helpful for parents to have the app installed for quick check in. Please take a moment while you are snowed in and take care of that today!
I want to close with a special thanks to our high schoolers, students and parents that helped us shovel the snowcrete from the last storm. It was nice to finally have some availability for students last week and hopefully this new storm clears quickly.

Summer Chesterbrook Building Closure
We have a building-wide HVAC renovation that will begin as soon as school closes in June. Therefore, our annual Summer Quest program will be relocated to Franklin Sherman. Thank you to Principal Thomas, our former Assistant Principal at Chesterbrook, for graciously opening their building to support continuation of our summer program.
Summer Quest Registration has Opened
Summer Quest offers a wide range of engaging and hands-on sessions for students entering Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. All proceeds from the program directly support technology needs at Chesterbrook. Sessions are led by our very own Chesterbrook teachers! Morning and afternoon sessions are available, and students enrolled in both may stay for a supervised lunch and recess between sessions. Whether you are looking to whip up some delicious treats, keep active this summer playing basketball or working on soccer drills, expand your creativity through endless crafts, become a princess, superhero, or master the magic of Hogwarts, Summer Quest has a class for everyone! Harlem Wizards Tickets on Sale for March 7th
When: Saturday, March 7th | Game begins at 6 PM | Doors open at 5 PM Where: Meridian High School | Located at 121 Mustang Alley
Come watch our Chesterbrook, Haycock and Franklin Sherman staff as they take on the Harlem Wizards in this fun and wild basketball game. A portion of the proceeds will benefit our PTA. Purchase your tickets today to reserve your spot at the game. This event will sell out, so get your tickets NOW!

SCREENAGERS Elementary Edition - Parent Viewing
Parents from all MHS pyramid elementary schools are invited to a free screening and facilitated discussion of Screenagers: Elementary Edition on Monday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Franklin Sherman Elementary, sponsored by the Franklin Sherman PTA.
This adults-only event supports families navigating smartphone use and healthy technology habits. By coming together as a broader McLean community, we can better prepare our students and families for thoughtful technology decisions. We will also discuss Franklin Sherman's Wait Until 8th campaign and how we can help implement it at other elementary schools.

Fun Fair Committee Roles - We Need You!
Please consider joining a great committee to help support ours students and join in the fun! We are still looking to fill two committee roles: one co-chair (who will work with current co-chairs Katie Bianco and Christine Zeillberger) as well as someone to organize ticket sales. The Role: The captain of the ship! You will oversee all committees, coordinate major elements like moon bounces and food, and ensure all volunteer shifts are filled.

Time Commitment: A few meetings in the fall, followed by a few hours a month in the spring, with a heavier time commitment in the final weeks. This is a great opportunity to learn the ropes from a seasoned chair and potentially take on a lead role in the future!

The Organizer! Responsible for fulfilling and delivering pre-sale orders of wristbands and tickets. You will get the online sales report and deliver orders to homeroom teachers.

Time Commitment: Be available to handle any ticket questions on the day of the Fun Fair.
