 It was good to have almost everyone back at school this week after the snow. (We look forward to having AM preK back next week.) Instead of outdoor recess, we had fun at our end-of-2nd quarter dance parties on our first day back.

Thursday is Spirit of Kindness day. Wear spirit wear/Camelot colors.
Friday is Showing Love at Camelot day. Wear red, pink, etc.
In addition to the spirit wear activities, our counselors and teachers will be facilitating kindness reflections and activities in classrooms.
Please join us for our staff-sponsored Science Night from 6:30-7:30pm on Thursday, February 12. This event is for all ages and will take place in the Camelot Cafeteria and Gym. Enjoy walking around to observe and participate in a variety of demonstrations and experiments. All children should be accompanied by an adult. This event is free.
Our next Early Release Wednesday is February 18. On this day, the school day ends at 12:50pm for K-6 students. (PreK has a regular Wednesday schedule.) Most students will depart school or go to SACC at 12:50pm on this day, but we do offer supervision to families who need it until 3:50pm. Buses are available at both 12:50pm and 3:50pm. We will use the Early Release plan that you selected for your child last month. If you would like to confirm or change your child’s plan, please use this form or call the school office (703) 645-7000. The remaining 3-hour early release dates are March 18, April 22, and May 13.
FCPS collaborates with Panorama Education to develop a research-backed SEL Screener. All students in grades 3-12 participate in the screener twice a year, in the fall and spring. The screener is untimed, though it takes most students about 15 minutes to complete. Camelot 3rd-6th graders will take the screener on March 10, 11 or 12. From February 18 to March 19, 2026, a Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) waiver allows students fasting during the school day to request take-home meal kits. These kits include a complete school breakfast and lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.
Important Meal Kit Information:
- Kits are charged based on a student’s meal status (Free, Reduced, or Paid).
- Students may claim one breakfast and one lunch kit per day.
- Students who eat a meal at school during the day are not eligible for a take-home kit on the same day.
- Kits are distributed at the end of the school day. Students must pick up their own kits; adults are not permitted to collect them.
Parents or guardians must submit a weekly request form via the FCPS FNS website by the deadlines:
- February 11, 2026 for week of February 18, 2026
- February 16, 2026 for the week of February 23, 2026
- February 23, 2026 for the week of March 2, 2026
- March 2, 2026 for the week of March 9, 2026
- March 9, 2026 for the week of March 16, 2026
Forms must be submitted on time to receive meal kits for the following week.
Calling all future thespians! The Falls Church High School International Thespian Honor Society is hosting a THEATRE ENRICHMENT DAY on Tuesday, February 17th, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. There will be sessions in Improv, Makeup, Choreography, Costumes and Props, and Tech Design. We invite all 3rd-6th grade students who want to learn more about the process of getting a show from the page onto the stage. A pizza lunch will be provided to all students. Sign up online now!
